Cramond is one of those hidden secrets which offers a peaceful waterside setting on the banks of the Forth Estuary and is less than 5 miles from the hustle and bustle of the excitement and wonder of Scotland’s capital city.
This fabulous cottage oozes charm and has the most amazing harbour view to the rear. More importantly, it has been fitted and equipped with the guest experience at heart. The two bedrooms will sleep four people comfortably in a double and twin bedroom. The living room has a spacious feel, a living gas flame fireplace and comfy furniture making it the ideal place to retire after a day’s exploring the walks along the riverside or the city centre. The kitchen/dining room has everything needed to prepare and enjoy meals whatever the occasion and at the end of the day the dishwasher will take the strain out of the chores – no need to fight over who washes and who dries up. The shower room has been updated to high standards with a walk in shower and quality sanitaryware.
Within Cramond Village you’ll be pleased to find a bistro at the bottom of the steps next to the cottage, there is also the local café a short walk along the shore front, passing some of the small yet quiet beaches which the kids (and probably the adults too) will love. The historic church is a stone throw away. Local shops and supermarkets, fast food restaurants and the post office are available 1 mile away in both Davidsons Mains and Barnton, and as we mentioned, Edinburgh city centre is easily reached by car, taxi or bus, whether it’s shopping, visiting attractions like the castle or simply enjoying the scenery, bars cafés and restaurants, the city has it all. Overall a fantastic holiday and Home.

I had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. It is clear that an enormous amount of care, thought, and hard work has gone into creating such a comfortable and welcoming place. The standard throughout is excellent, and everything feels well loved and meticulously maintained. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped — and I genuinely mean everything. From crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans, to a cupboard stocked with condiments, herbs, and spices, it has everything you could possibly need. I was also pleasantly surprised to find cling film, foil, and kitchen roll provided, which made the stay even easier. Carmella has clearly thought carefully about what guests might need and gone above and beyond. The location is ideal for exploring. Edinburgh city centre is only about six miles away, making it very easy to visit for the day, and there is so much to see in the surrounding area. Glencoe is just over a couple of hours’ drive and absolutely worth the trip. The Kelpies are stunning, and the Wallace Monument is impressive — climbing the steps is challenging but rewarding.I also had the pleasure of meeting Andrew next door, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. The only downside to an otherwise excellent stay was an unpleasant encounter with another nearby neighbour, who questioned my lawful Blue Badge use and behaved in a rude and intimidating manner despite my hidden disability. This was disappointing, but it does not reflect on the cottage or the host, which were both excellent.Overall, I had a fantastic time and would happily recommend this cottage to others looking for a comfortable base from which to explore Edinburgh and beyond.

Excellent cottage. It was lovely and warm when we arrived. Plenty of space. Beds were comfy. Very clean. Close to Cramond Quay. 10 minutes to bus stop into Edinburgh or 15 minutes by car to Park and Ride by the airport to get the train into the city. Would love to come back at another time to explore the area
