Guests say

Fidra Cottage in Anstruther is highly praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and excellent location near the town centre and coastal paths. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the thoughtful welcome pack, although it's noted that gifts are subject to change. Some minor issues with maintenance and recycling facilities are mentioned, but overall, the cottage offers a delightful stay with easy access to local amenities and scenic walks.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spotless and very clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The cottage is appreciated for its great location near the town centre, coastal paths, and local amenities, although one review mentioned a lack of direct coast access.

Reviews highlight the cottage's cosiness and comfort, with several guests noting it as warm and welcoming. A few comments about window accessibility and shower operation slightly affect the score.

The property is well-equipped according to guests, but some noted issues with windows, drying options for laundry, and boiler/shower, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.

While guests mention a welcome pack and the provision of everything needed for a great holiday, there is not enough information to determine if such thoughtfulness is consistent across all stays, so the score is set to null.

A quiet week with my dog, here for the sea and beaches (even in rubbish weather in February!) but mainly as a base to see family in Fife. The cottage is absolutely lovely, well furnished, very cosy with thoughtful touches. The love of the owners for the sea shines through in the decoration. The only reason I'm giving a 'good' rather than 'excellent' for comfort and equipment was because the shower is quirky but a little playing with the water pressure initially gives you a good hot shower in the end. I don't expect perfection in a beautifully restored, old fisherman's cottage, they have their own character! So, I would whole heartedly recommend it. At the end of the Wynd is a high sea wall, giving a lovely view of the beach, sky, lighthouse and Isle of May (which you can also see from a porthole in the house - telescope provided!). You can't get down to the beach there so you just have a short walk around the block. The stars at night are beautiful in a clear sky, as is the sea (whatever the weather!). Around is all the attraction of the East Neuk of Fife. Everyone we met in Anstruther was friendly, the town is pretty and historically interesting and there are similar treasures all down the coast. I would absolutely go again.

We enjoyed our week in Fidra. It was perfect for walking along the coast path to the villages along the coast. We also caught the bus for a day out in St Andrews from nearby. The centre of Anstruther is in easy walking distance too.
