Ivy Cottage is a charming, two-bedroom cottage just a minute’s walk from the heart of the stunning royal village of Falkland and the impressive Falkland Palace and Gardens. Finished to a very good standard in 2022, it has a fantastic open plan living space with underfloor heating and a feature wood burner for colder winter months, as well as a fully fitted modern kitchen area in keeping with the charm and character of this ‘chocolate box’ village. Heading up the open tread stairs, you can choose from either a kingsize bedroom that can be adapted into a twin, or a double room with a modern shower room next to it.

Nestling below the Lomond Hills, and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Falkland is a wonderful place for walking. You can hike to the top of West Lomond to see the Bunnet Stane rock formation and John Knox’s Pulpit, see Falkland Estate, the hunting ground for Scotland’s royalty, or walk around the village. Fans of ‘Outlander’ will recognize Falkland as the village centre from the TV series, which played the part of Inverness. The village has a lovely choice of traditional pubs, cosy tearooms, and quirky shops. Spectacular Falkland Palace, beloved by Mary, Queen of Scots, has all the glory and splendour expected of a royal residence. Take time to wander round the extensive gardens and orchards and look out for the living willow labyrinth, the giant chess board and the world’s oldest tennis court. If you thought your stay couldn’t get any better, Falkland Estate is just a few minutes away where you can explore the many paths and tracks that run throughout 1900 hectares of land with routes through forest, past active farm land, over burns and to the summit of East Lomond.

We loved our stay here. Stylish, comfortable and very well equipped. The cottage is very centrally located in the village and parking outside was super convenient. We were made to feel very welcome and if you were new to the area, plenty of helpful suggestions were made available. I highly recommend and thank you.

What a wonderful cottage, a real home from home. The underfloor heating made the cottage so comfortable and cosy, we didn't need to light the stove but great to have the option. We arrived to a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a lovely tray with coffee, tea and selection of biscuits. The touches all through the home made you feel very comfortable and we didn't want for anything. The kitchen was fully kitted out with washing machine/dryer, coffee machine, milk frother/steamer, quality toaster, microwave and everything you would require. The cottage has been given a beautiful modernization with such thought and detail into every aspect of the property. The cottage is minutes from the pub, shops and the Palace. Everything is just within a short walk and the village is so friendly. What can we say say we loved our stay and thank Shelley and David for allowing us to stay at their property. We hope we respected their home and treated it like our own. And hope they'll allow us to return. Thank you thank you for a wonderful stay and memory.
