Tucked away in the scenic landscape of Tomatin, near Carrbridge in the Highlands of Scotland, this eight-bed house absorbs the picturesque views of its surroundings, being itself a beautiful grey stone and white painted Highland house. The Press House creates a countryside holiday perfect for families or groups of friends seeking to explore the great outdoors.
A beautiful grey stone building and convenient off-road parking welcome you to the beginning of your Scotland adventure when you arrive at The Press House, taking in the beautiful open farmland surrounding the property.
After hanging your coats in the spacious entrance hall, enter one of two sitting rooms, one part of the open-plan kitchen/diner and the other separate for a more peaceful moment, each fitted with comfortable sofas sitting eight guests, and a stone fireplace with rustic log burner to keep you warm on cooler days, as well as a TV to help you wind down after a long day of walking in the stunning surrounding area, or perhaps have a game of table football in the games room?
Prepare heart-warming meals in the amply equipped open-plan kitchen/diner and sitting area, presenting your meals at the eight seat dining table with views out to the large garden and surrounding landscape.
Find a convenient utility room stocked with a washing machine and tumble dryer to take care of your muddy clothes, with the edition of a ground-floor shower room.
When sleep calls, there are a variety of rooms to choose from, so you are bound to find something perfect for you, with one king-size with en-suite shower room, and homely décor of yellows and creams an ample storage, two king-size painted in relaxing blue or yellow with picturesque views to the surrounding scenery, and one twin room perfect for children.
Upstairs you will also find a generous bathroom with a bath to soak away the chilly air outside and relax into an evening of games and fun.
When it comes to countryside views, The Press House offers them in abundance. Dine outside on the extensive lawn, impressing your friends and family with local produce cooked on the barbecue provided.
Why not explore with your four-legged friends the beautiful scenery on offer, or try out activities such as fishing? With many trails within an hour’s drive including Aviemore in the Rothiemurchus Forest, Laggan Wolftrax Trail Centre, and Learnie Red Rocks on the Black Isle, mountain biking is sure to capture your adventurous side or check out the historical elements of the area with a walk through Culloden Battlefield. The local village of Carrbridge welcomes you with a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, and a bar, where you can enjoy a cooked meal before heading out for a hike, or there is the option of a golf course. The nearby Landmark Forest Adventure Park offers a great family day out and further afield you will find Inverness, a city with so much to do to fill your day, including many shops, pubs and restaurants, local historical sites and the botanical gardens.

Situated in the heart of the Highlands, the village of Tomatin has a good mix of excellent shops and restaurants. The village offers limitless opportunity to enjoy outdoor sports and leisure activities, from fishing on the River Findhorn that flows nearby, walking and riding, to golfing at the many courses of the region. Skiing at Aviemore, Scotland’s premiere holiday & ski centre is a must. Visitors are welcome at Tomatin Distillery, where the mysteries of whisky making will be explained, topped off by a dram of Tomatin Single Highland Malt. The Highland capital of Inverness is just 20 minutes drive, or visit famous Loch Ness and the Great Glen, or the mystical Isle of Skye. A superb and peaceful location for a rejuvenating break.
