Guests have enjoyed their stay at Sgath na Craig, appreciating its cosy comfort, beautiful location, and proximity to local amenities and attractions on the Isle of Skye. The property is dog-friendly and offers a spacious environment, though some guests noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.
The property's cleanliness has been brought into question by a guest who reported an unclean kitchen, cobwebs, and a stained mat, suggesting that attention to detail is required.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience to local sights and amenities, including Dunvegan and Neist Point, despite being slightly off the beaten track.
The cottage is described as warm, comfortable, and cosy with ample space, although there were issues with hot water supply and heating consistency.
Facilities are generally well-equipped, but some guests experienced issues with a faulty dishwasher and insufficient kitchen supplies, indicating a need for updates and repairs.
There is no mention of gifts or special attention to guest experiences in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness of the host.

Sgath na Craig is a traditional three-bedroomed, white-washed croft house situated in Upper Colbost which is just off the main road to Glendale. The cottage overlooks Loch Dunvegan, Dunvegan Castle, the white sands of Coral beach and, on a clear day, you can see the Isle of Harris. You are a few minutes’ walk from Colbost pier and 250 yards from the famous Three Chimneys Restaurant.
The township of Glendale and Dunvegan village are a 10-minute drive where we’ll stocked shops and eateries are available. Drive 10 minutes further and you will arrive at one of the island’s most visited landmarks, Neist Point Lighthouse. Be prepared for the walk down to it, and once down you might be lucky to see dolphins. Whilst over there why not walk to the trig on Waterstein Head - but beware if you are scared of heights!! There is so much to do on Skye, including walking, climbing the Cuillins, boat trips to Saint Kilda from Dunvegan or a more localised boat trip from the main town Portree. The north of the island is home to the dinosaur footprints, the Quirang, the Old Man of Storr, the Fairy Glen and the village of Uig, from where the ferries sail to the outer Hebrides. Beach 9 miles.
Free WiFi
The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.

The above says it all. The bedrooms and the lounge and the view. No welcome pack, no handy information, as we entered, the mat in the hallway had a very visible wet stain on it, kitchen unclean in areas, cobwebs greasy tray in the oven, kitchen utensils with food remnants. Bin which wouldnt close. Never sufficient hot water for a bath, barely a quarter full. Haphazard heating Three Chimneys very disappointing, couldnt go in just for a drink and extremely overpriced menu. I mesaged yourselves while we were there stating these facts but failed to get a reply. I am not a complainer and we have had many stays through yourselves. However when paying good money we expect a better standard and unfortunately this time it didnt happen. We actually left the property earlier than intended and didnt complete the full week.

This is a nice house in a great location. The house itself is fairly well equipped, but could do with some updates. For example we were only provided with one tea towel for a party of 6 people and the dish washer is faulty (apparently awaiting repair - perhaps it should simply be replaced to ensure customers are getting what they pay for etc). Overall we anll enjoyed our stay in this cosy house and enjoyed the Isle of Skye as a whole.
