Guests say

Pine Lodge is highly praised for its stunning views, peaceful and private location, and wildlife encounters. Guests appreciate the well-equipped lodge, the cleanliness, and the warm welcome from the hosts. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the Highlands, with some minor feedback on maintenance and pricing.

The lodge consistently receives compliments for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'spotlessly clean' and 'well maintained'. One review mentioned mould around the bath, but this seems an isolated concern.

The location is celebrated for its excellent views, wildlife, and quietness, making it a great base for exploring the Highlands. However, some guests noted that car travel is necessary and walking options are limited due to the roads.

Guests find the lodge comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and a homely feel. The living room views and bird-watching opportunities add to the comfort of the stay.

The lodge is well-equipped according to guests, with all necessary amenities and some thoughtful extras. However, there are suggestions for exterior maintenance and updates to outdoor furniture, which slightly affect the score.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing welcome packs and being accommodating with additional items like beach towels. While such gestures are appreciated, guests should note that these offerings may vary and are not guaranteed.

About this property

Culbokie 5 miles. This lovely, detached, chalet-style lodge is situated beside the peaceful haven of the Millbuie Forest on the Wester Brae Highland Lodge site, close to the village of Culbokie, Ross and Cromarty, Highland. With widespread views across the Black Isle to the Cromarty Firth, Ben Wyvis and the mountains beyond, this attractive lodge is ideal for a couple, a family group or group of friends who want to explore this beautiful area and soak up the peace and tranquillity that it has to offer. Presented to a high standard, there are two well-proportioned bedrooms, a double and a twin.

The well-equipped kitchen has a spacious dining area and guests can enjoy home cooking after an active day out. The sitting room has a real wow factor with floor-to-ceiling windows from which there are spectacular views to be enjoyed from the comfort of your sofa! On warmer days, the garden seating provides a fabulous spot for a quiet read or drink. If you find it difficult to leave the comfort of this wonderful retreat, then just a few steps away is the forest, rich with wildlife, which is ideal for walkers, cyclist and nature lovers. The area has much to offer and the village of Culbokie is very close by, with its friendly pub and shop.

However, the Black Isle boasts many pretty seaside villages and a walk along the beach in nearby Rosemarkie will almost guarantee sightings of the famous Moray Firth dolphins as they leap by! Perhaps visit nearby Cromarty, an 18th century fishing port and renowned for being the best preserved village in the Highlands. From here you can take a high-speed boat to see the dolphins and other wildlife at close quarter but remember to book first! A fabulous area with so much to do, a great holiday home to enjoy and the whole Northern Highlands and Cairngorms at your feet to explore.
