Enjoying a cosy open fire, this traditional cottage in beautiful surroundings is just 500 yards to shops and pubs.. Occupying a marvellous setting, with all main windows overlooking Gairloch Bay to the magnificent Torridon Mountains and the Isle of Skye beyond, this traditional stone cottage and its large natural garden is only 1½ miles (approx) from Gairloch beach. With sheep grazing close by, its setting is quiet, yet well placed for visiting the village’s pier and harbour, playing a round of golf on the 9-hole course, and exploring the beauty of the surrounding area. Ideal base for hill walking. Swimming pool and Inverewe Tropical Gardens at Poolewe, 6 miles. Shops and pub approximately 500 yards.. 3 steps to entrance.

We had a lovely holiday at Ach-na-clachan. The view from the cottage is amazing (and was the reason we booked it).The kitchen is well equipped, but some instructions for how to get the fan oven to work would be helpful (we got there in the end). The outdoor space feels a bit unloved (the grass was cut during our stay, but the stack of loose paving slabs and stony area don't create the most inviting outdoor space). Overall it is a comfortable, well equipped cottage in a lovely location, but could be even nicer with a few small changes.

Excellent cottage in spectacular location (there are very few cottages like this one with totally unimpeded views and direct access to the foreshore).Kitchen hob may need some attention soon - as markings are worn and heat is difficult to regulate. But this is just a maintenance issue.Internet has frequent drop-outs - which is a feature of the remote area rather than the cottage itself. Worth bearing in mind if you have to make e.g. onward travel arrangements on-line.
