We are only 2 miles from Neistpoint light house which is a truly spectacular place to visit with breathtaking sunsets and wildlife life such as dolphins and whales. The accommodation is self catering , therefore breakfast is not included, however does afford you the opportunity to cook your own meals, using the hob and combi microwave oven provided . The Aurora is located within a hiker’s paradise, with hill / cliff walks on your doorstep. If you wish to eat out we are situated only 5 miles from the acclaimed’Three Chimneys‘restaurant, ‘Old School Restaurant’ 10 miles from aurora and the acclaimed Michelin star restaurant, which is situated in Waternish loch bay , 15 miles

Aurora is located in a very beautiful idyllic location, which is very rural secluded , which is a reflection of the real authentic Skye . Due to being rural there is limited options to buy supplies, however there is the 'Three Chimneys' restaurant only 5 miles from Aurora, book ahead to avoid disappointed. There are also local food outlets and a food store in Dunvegan 10 miles from Aurora however times of opening vary, advise to stock up on food supplies prior to arrival to Aurora,

We have very little to no light pollution in the winter , which offers guests the chance to see the northern lights from aurora, as well as the milky way and an abundant array of stars over head, truly breath taking

Please kindly note! We are very rural secluded,10 miles from the nearest town, if you are looking for rural seclusion and peace this is the place for you . the accommodation Aurora 1 is attached to Aurora 2 , the cabin Aurora 3 is standalone ,Aurora 1 is closet to aurora 3 cabin.

All are likened to rooms with the bed/dining/kitchenette in one space and a en suite bathroom, All are bespoke /small/compact and cosy , Aurora 3 cabin is very small/compact like a tiny house, has limited space and limited places to store clothes , there is no wardrobe or draws or spaces for large suitcases, Aurora 3 cabin does however commands sea views inside and out , and has a large picture window of the sea and Mountain View’s Aurora 1 and 2 sea views from the balcony and Mountain View’s inside

The 'Aurora Borealis' (Northern Lights). With very little light pollution, you will be surrounded at aurora by the dark skies which will feel like a blanket of stars pulled over you, and our inspiration for calling our accommodation aurora retreats, due to the specular display of the lights in the dark skies. You cannot see auroras on Skye in the summer as it is too light at night. The best times of year are October through to March. During the summer you can make the most of the amazing sunsets and sunrises

Aurora is located in a truly magical place in a rural secluded authentic part of Skye at the tip of the North west of Skye with its Jurassic coastlines Steeped in breath-taking natural and geological heritage, as well as unspoiled Jurassic coastlines. The unspoilt environment attracts, wildlife from all around , sea birds, eagles , dolphins and basking sharks.There are also abundant opportunities for fishing along the coast and fresh seafood can be bought directly from the local fishermen at the nearby pier.

Milovaig is situated in a secluded , rural, tranquil part of skye in the far NW, if you are looking for an authentic, quite experience on Skye then Aurora Retreats is the place for you, there is a scattering of houses with amazing walks and sea views and wild life , such as sea eagles, golden eagles , deer , who visit Aurora often and an abundance of sea birds and dolphins, which can at times be seen from the balcony. which over looks loch poilteel. We also leave the garden wild , so it attracts butterflies and bees as well as an abundance of wildflowers. Duvegan is only 10 miles aways with plenty shops the well known three chimneys restaurant is local as well as Dunvagan castle , coral beach . We also have a GiftShop where you can buy , Isle of Skye candles, essence of Harris candles and Harris tweed .

Getting around best to have a car to see the island, public transport in Glendale is only available in schools time with a limited service
