About this property

Located down a narrow country lane, a short walk from Golspie, in the Scottish Highlands, is this charming ground-floor apartment called Tartan. Once being the servants’ quarters, Tartan is one of two apartments in this Grade B listed building. This property has been lovingly renovated to provide a warm and homely base for friends or families looking to escape to the North Sea coast. Entering through the rear of the property brings you to a small boot room where you can leave your muddy boots and step through to the open-plan living space. The kitchen is furnished to a high standard and is well equipped with a range of appliances for both cooking and baking equipment.

Gather for an evening meal at the dining table or relax on the comfy sofa and chairs after a long day of sightseeing, and reminisce over the day's events. The property comes with two well-presented bedrooms, set up as a double and twin, both of which have plenty of storage space and bedside tables and lamps for some late night reading. There is a family bathroom with an elegant bath and shower over, so you can decide how best to prepare for your day. Step outside to discover a small courtyard patio area, complete with a small shed ideal for bike and golf club storage, and garden furniture perfect for enjoying a refreshing drink in the afternoon sun, or your morning coffee and croissants while you plan your day's excursions.

If you fancy a saunter into the centre of Golspie village, you'll find a range of shops and places to eat. For a spot of history, venture towards the stately home of Dunrobin Castle, the largest in the Northern Highlands with 189 rooms. Golspie has an excellent golf course, with many more slightly further afield to pique any avid golfer's interest. Within walking distance, you can join the Highland Wild Cat Trails either for mountain biking if you're an adventure seeker, or the more leisurely cycling trail for the young ones. Also right on your doorstep, is the Ben Bhraggie Monument Walk, which can be accessed directly when you have Tartan as your base, and has amazing views over the coastline on your walk up to and from the summit of the Ben Bhraggie Monument.

Golspie village is a short walk down the hill from Tartan, and offers tennis courts, a bowling green and a swimming pool. Tartan is the perfect property for a coastal retreat to the Scottish Highlands, with a multitude of activities for you and the family. EPC Rating: Band C

Owner provided welcome package. In an excellent location at the foot of Ben Bhaggie and a short walk to the beach. An excellent place to relax and explore.

Four of us found the mattresses all so comfortable and everything in this pristine flat is of good quality. The owners have thought of just about everything any guest could want! Constructive feedback: The shower has excellent pressure but being over a deep bath is maybe not as user friendly for people with disabilities. My husband and I are elderly and both suffer from arthritis. Using the shower was a challenge but one we were determined to conquer!

The property was extremely clean and beautifully kept. A great base for exploring the North Highlands. Would definitely recommend.
