Nethy Bridge 2.5 miles. Culreach Lodge is an inviting detached cottage in Grantown-on-Spey near Nethy Bridge, settled next to the River Spey. Sleeping up to six guests, over a single-storey and with immaculate views of the surrounding woodland and countryside, Culreach Lodge is a charming base within the Cairngorms National Park and is ideal for discovering the magnificent Scottish Highlands. You are greeted to the property with a long gravel driveway which offers private parking for three cars, and a garage which is available to store bikes, before you take a couple steps up to the property and enter the utility room, which is perfect for your pets to sleep and also has a handy washing machine and tumble dryer, keeping everyone fresh. Moving into the well-thought out and open-plan living space, there is a well-equipped kitchen area so guests can rustle up an evening meal to enjoy round the dining table as they toast to a wonderful trip, or make a quick breakfast and enjoy at the breakfast bar before a long day ahead. There is a sitting area, with a gorgeous woodburning stove and plenty of sofa space, so choose your spot, grab some popcorn and flick on the Smart TV, where you can enjoy your favourite Netflix shows as you rest after a long day in the countryside. When the evening draws to a close, head down the corridor where there are two stylish super-king-size bedrooms, which can be changed to a twin set up to offer flexible sleeping arrangements, both offer plenty of storage and a quirky dressing table hidden behind one of the mirrored wardrobe doors. There is also a bathroom where guests can relax in the bath, and maybe even add some bubbles, or take a quick shower before heading out for the day. To finish the property there is another flexible bedroom which is super-king-size and can be made into a twin on request, offering scenic views out to the woodland where you may be lucky enough to spot red squirrel, as well as an en-suite shower room so you can get ready in peace and style! The patio doors from the living space lead out to the garden, where there is an ample lawn for your children or furry friends to play, plus a picnic table for a spot of alfresco dining or a bottle of wine under the stars. A garden gate then leads you onto forest walks. A short drive leads you into the centre of Nethy Bridge, which is a popular Highland village offering the beautiful Abernethy National Nature Reserve, a golf course and tennis courts, as well as local shops, pubs, restaurants, a Post Office and a butcher's. In the opposite direction, you can head into Grantown-on-Spey to visit the local museum or the interesting Grantown East, a pizza restaurant based inside an old railway carriage, offering mouth watering sweet pizzas too! Across the River Spey, the town of Aviemore has lots to discover, such as the historic ceremonial Ring Cairn and Stone Circle, the Strathspey Steam Railway, which offers afternoon tea and rides between Aviemore and Broomhill, Rothiemurchus Estate with it's 13th century island castle and wildlife, and don't forget to visit the TreeZone Outdoor Adventure Centre, which makes for a great day out. Culreach Lodge also has great access to picturesque walking and cycling routes, with the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest on its doorstep and the surrounding Cairngorms offering forest trails.
