About this property

Perched in Scotland’s bustling capital city of Inverness, Highland, is this wonderful, detached bungalow, Porter's Lodge. Taking its name from its superb location along Ness Walk overlooking the River Ness, the waterfront and the remarkable castle, Porter's Lodge is a listed building and a fantastic choice for couples or a family of four. The property benefits from off-road parking for one car, and a rear enclosed garden with lawn, ideal for the little ones to safely run and play. Inside, you will find a fully-equipped kitchen for whipping up your best meals, ready to enjoy in the dining room at the table for four as you recount the day's adventures. Continue through to the sitting room, which offers lovely views of the River Ness, where you can kick-back and relax in front of the electric fire as your favourite show plays out on the Smart TV. After a day of exploring, indulge in a leisurely soak in the bath with your favourite book, or freshen up under the overhead shower. As your eyes start to grow heavy, retire to one of two well-presented bedrooms, a king-size and a double, both with plenty of storage. Explore the city, where you can visit the magnificent cathedral, delve into history at Inverness Museum & Art Gallery, test out your swing at the excellent Inverness Golf Club, enjoy leisurely strolls through the Inverness Botanic Gardens, explore the Ness Islands where you can spot the local wildlife, dine at The WaterFront and The Mustard Seed, or embark on a boat trip where you can spot the dolphins which frequent the shores. A trip to Scotland wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the famous Loch Ness, where you can enjoy boat trips and tales as you see if you can spot the renowned folklore monster! On the shores of Loch Ness, you can visit Dores, where you can visit the delightful Loch Ness Alpacas, Drumnadrochit, where you will find the fascinating Urquhart Castle, and Foyers, home to the stunning Falls of Foyers. Further afield, you’ll find Tomatin, where you can enjoy a guided tour and samples at The Tomatin Distillery. Embark on an adventure to the Highlands at Porter's Lodge. EPC Rating: Band F

Inverness, the Highlands' administrative centre, serves as a portal to the region's many attractions. The steep coastal cliffs, dense lochs, vast forests, and towering peaks are all within driving distance. The renowned Loch Ness, which is surrounded by stunning natural beauty but is frequently visited by those seeking something else entirely, is a must-see. Culloden Moor, site of the city's namesake battle, lies on the outskirts (National Trust). A trip across the field where the final major battle fought in Britain took place is a sombre reminder of the lives lost by the clansmen. The display depicting the event won an award. There's a lot to do and see in Inverness itself, from visiting museums and the art gallery to going to the excellent theatre and recreational facilities. The city is located on the banks of the River Ness, which is home to a wide variety of animals, including red kites and dolphins, which can sometimes be spotted from the shore or on boat rides out of the harbour.

The welcome pack mentioned that there was a second set of keys in a key box - looked high and low but could not find them - this was not a problem just mentioned as the pack could be wrong and might need updating. Whilst in the cottage the heating developed a fault - error 1101 on the thermostat - googled as it was not in the manuals for the heating - found to be low battery youtube showed how to change them - changed with 2 new batteries and was ok. We will probably book up for another holiday.

Unfortunately the furniture is arrange that you are unable to look at the front view. Sofa and chair very uncomfortable. The oven did not work and no instructions.A small bath would be better as we were unable to climb into it and the amount of water to fill it would be such a waste.
