Guests say

Kintulloch is a much-loved cottage in a tranquil, nature-rich setting, perfect for those seeking peace, wildlife, and direct access to walking and cycling routes. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped kitchen, with many returning for repeat stays. The abundance of red squirrels and birds in the garden is a highlight, and the cottage offers a cosy retreat after days exploring the Cairngorms. Minor drawbacks mentioned include an uncomfortable sofa, a dated TV, and the absence of a hairdryer, but these are far outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive experiences.

Multiple reviews specifically mention the cottage being spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with no negative comments regarding cleanliness.

The location is universally praised for its peacefulness, proximity to nature, and direct access to walks and cycling. Guests love the wildlife and the sense of seclusion, while still being close to local amenities and attractions.

Guests frequently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and homely, with particular praise for the beds and log fire. One review notes the sofa was uncomfortable, but this is a minor point among otherwise glowing feedback.

The cottage is described as very well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and includes modern appliances and a wood-burning stove. Minor suggestions for improvement include a larger TV and the addition of a hairdryer.

Guests mention welcoming and helpful hosts, and some note the provision of wood and firelighters for the stove. While gifts are not specifically mentioned, the attention to detail and hospitality are appreciated. Please note that such gestures are not guaranteed for every stay.

We spent one week at this wonderful accommodation. It had everything we needed for a really enjoyable week, both for the location and facilities available in the cottage. In relation to the location, it's perfectly situated 'out of the way', with the Cairngorms National Park literally on the doorstep. The wildlife outside (and I mean on your doorstep, looking out of the windows) included red squirrels, woodpecker, jays, siskins, bullfinch etc etc, which where mesmerizing viewing. Also, just a couple of miles away at Insh Loch is an Osprey Nest with both male and femaie in situ. The cottage has everything you need utensil wise in the kitchen. Also it was very clean. Finally, we've stayed at other cottages in the area booking through another global accommodation provider, but have to say this cottage compared with similar on the 'other' site is excellently priced.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Kintulloch and hopefully not the last! It has everything you need, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Wildlife is our passion and Kintulloch does not disappoint, the wildlife on your doorstep is amazing, we had so many red squirrels visiting every day, we put out hazelnuts and peanuts for them (managed to put some on the window sill) and the squirrels provided so much entertainment coming right up to the windows and looking in - who needs a tv! So many birds as well which we kept fed daily, chaffinch, black cap, greater spotted woodpecker, greenfinch, pheasants, jackdaw, just wonderful. We put out 2 trail cameras every day/night to be able to see all the wonderful wildlife and even had a visiting badger one night (the last time we stayed at Kintulloch 7 years ago there were 3 regular badgers visiting each night). The owners were very friendly and helpful, thank you for allowing us to share your wonderful home.

Over the years I have stayed at many self catering cottages around the UK. However, what I can say without reservation is that Kintulloch is the best that mysef and partner have ever stayed at. The cottage was fully equipped with everything to provide a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped with the latest appliances, including a large frudge freezer, ceramic hob cooker/oven, microwave and washing machine. There is every kitchen utensil you coukd wish for. The lounge has a lovely wood burning stove with the wood and firelighters all included. The bathroon has a bath tub abd ooiwer shower and heated towel rail for drying towells and clothes etc. All in all, Kintulloch is the perfect place for a totally relaxing holiday. Finally, a word about the hosts - Doctors Catherine and Rebecca Williams. The most welcoming and helpful hosts anyone could wish for.
