An impressive detached cottage situated on the outskirts of the village of Laide in a superb rural location on the west coast of Scotland, with panoramic mountain and sea views. You reach the cottage after a short drive along a stone track, where it is nestled in an acre of grounds in a wonderful secluded spot. There are walks direct from the cottage to explore the waterfall nearby, the surrounding hills or down to the shore, where you might glimpse a seal basking on the rocks. There is also ample parking at the cottage. The cottage offers a traditional croft style, built using Torridonian sandstone and finished to a very high standard. Inside, the sitting room features a stunning vaulted timber ceiling and beautifully hand crafted stone wall with a woodburner for a cosy night in or just a relaxing space to enjoy the views. The large, well equipped kitchen and dinning area are ideal for preparing and sharing a meal together after a day exploring the Highlands and again you can relax here and enjoy the views out to sea. The double bedroom has plenty of matching furnishings to store your belongings and luxurious bedding for a peaceful nights sleep. A little further on at Aultbea there is another shop, a hotel/ restaurant, cafes and gift shops. Further afield in Gairloch and Ullapool are sports facilities, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, such as hill walking, kayaking, horse riding, golf and boat trips and many more. A must is the beautiful sandy beach at Gruinard and Laide has a 200 acre wood on the doorstep where you can try to spot some of the amazing wildlife and flora the Highlands has to offer.
The village of Laide is resting in the region known as Wester Ross and boasts a shop, Post Office, petrol station, church and the ruins of a medieval chapel. Gruinard Bay, with its sandy beaches and backdrop of mountains is within reach, and the renowned National Trust Inverewe Gardens is just eight miles away. The village of Aultbea with two local shops and a hotel is nearby.
