Eilean View makes the perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of the north western Highlands. There are many villages to visit along this coastline including Gairloch, only 9 miles away, with its bustling harbour and good range of shops, galleries, craft shops and some great places to eat and drink. Take a short drive to visit the famous National Trust for Scotland Inverewe Gardens, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in Scotland and a must for anyone who loves nature. The lush tropical oasis is perched on a peninsula overlooking Loch Ewe and is one of the most popular botanical attractions in Scotland.
This area is a magnet for walkers, geologists and naturalists and is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise with mountain climbing, hill walking, mountain biking and a large variety of water sports all within a short distance. There is so much to see and do for all ages. For the less energetic, sit back, relax and unwind and watch the ever-changing scenery from the comfort of your chair. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

This is a little gem of a cottage. Location: Sea views across Loch Ewe are amazing and it is only a 5 min drive to sandy beaches and the costal paths along the Cove headland. Local shop is also only 5 mins away, and the Co-op at Gairloch 10-15 mins away. Not matter where you explore in this area, the scenery and views are stunning. Cottage: The layout of the cottage has been really well thought out. Two ensuite bedrooms upstairs and a double downstairs. All rooms were of decent size and nicely furnished. Kitchen had enough cutlery, pots and pans etc for our needs, and eating at the table watching the sea was a treat. We all liked the rain-showers and the bathrooms were clean, and fluffy towels were provided. The property was very clean throughout, and had plenty of cleaning items available to use (not always in the case in some places). We also appreciated the milk, butter and scones on arrival, and the numerous toilet paper provided. It is these little items that make a difference. Only two items to note: my wife felt the double bed downstairs was uncomfortable (but I found it fine) and it said a CD/DVD player was available but we could not find it. Summary: Simply put, I'd buy this cottage if it became available. For the money we paid, it was a steal.

We had a lovely stay at Eilean View, the house was immaculate, the hosts very friendly and the views out of this world. The view from the living room changed every second. A perfect base for a relaxing or active holiday. Wifi good. Afternoon tea at Inverasdale Old School every Wed 2-4pm is a must, Arctic Convoy Museum, Gairloch Museum and the Poolewe Market on a Tuesday. Will def be back x
