It is situated in a quiet backwater on a no through road close to the centre of Portree. Taigh Mhairi (Gaelic for Mhairi’s house) is named after the owner’s mother whose ancestors have lived on Skye for many generations. The property boasts a large lounge/dining room with an attractive open fire as its focal point. The pretty bedrooms and bright modern kitchen and bathroom all combine to offer a beautifully presented cottage with a real homely feel.

Nice bungalow in a great location, had everything you need including a garden with small seating area.Had everything you need to cook and wash clothes, decent size fridge comfortable beds and really nice walk in shower.Only small gripe, both front and back doors could do with updating as they are a bit dated.

We enjoyed a very pleasant week in Portree. The house we stayed in met all our needs, just a short walk from the town centre and local amenities. Though no problems arose, it was good to meet the owner who lives very close by. We would certainly recommend.

Location of the cottage is great however the front garden and drive needs attention to many weeds and overgrown trees bushes The kitchen is very well equipped the conservatory type furniture in living room was uncomfortable bed was clean and comfortable and slept well as the area is peaceful and quiet
