The small but well-equipped kitchen overlooks the lovely garden, with lawn, flowers and mature shrubs, and is adjacent to a spacious separate dining room. There is a large family shower room on the ground floor too. Original cottage stairs curve round and lead up to 2 attractively presented bedrooms, with quality wool carpets and solid wood furniture. The owner has provided a variety of reference books, games and DVDs for guests to use during their stay..
The cottage is situated in the centre of the charming and historic Highland town of Tain in Easter Ross. Predominantly built of mellow sandstone, you’ll find a selection of small shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as many sporting and recreational facilities including a golf club (designed by Old Tom Morris), tennis courts, parks and bowling club, all within easy walking distance. Easter Ross itself is a region of outstanding natural beauty, with rugged coastlines, rolling hills, and historic towns, offering numerous opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling. Places of interest to visit in the area include the famous Glenmorangie Whisky Distillery, Dunrobin Castle, historic seat of the Dukes of Sutherland, the Pictish Trail and the enchanting town of Dornoch, with its magnificent cathedral, championship golf course and award-winning beach. Tain is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Northern Highland region and close to the renowned North Coast 500 route, which passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain. Head northwards to discover cliff top walks and wide unspoilt beaches, west to view mountains and lochs, or south to meander around the Black Isle and Inverness, the capital city of the Highlands.

Lovely house clean tidy big garden well equipt owner very helpful too if you stay here we recommend platform 1865 at the train station best food in town we though if you fancy a takeaway peri peri can also recomend this house was lovely sorry cant say anymore as we only really slept there as we went of into highlands exploring but had a beautiful stay and would book again in future

The street in which the cottage is located can be busy making parking a bit of an issue once or twice. It can also be noisy with traffic sounds, but mainly it was quiet.There was a problem with recycling. The main recycling bin was full to overflowing when we arrived which meant we had to find other venues to recycle plastics and tins which was not that easy and not something we wanted to spend our holiday doing. Otherwise, the cottage was nice. The bedrooms and living areas were lovely.

A lovely, well equipped, spacious, traditional cottage in the heart of Tain. Tain is a beautiful, historic town and all local amenities are within walking distance, including dog friendly restaurants, shops, train station, museum and beach.In addition to this, Tain is perfectly located to explore both the north and south of the Scottish Highlands, and an ideal base for those wanting to explore the NC500.Would highly recommend!!
