Guests say

Gladstone Cottage receives consistently positive feedback for its welcoming hosts, excellent cleanliness, and well-equipped, comfortable interiors. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, character, and dog-friendly garden, as well as the convenient location for exploring Caithness, Orkney, and local attractions. The cottage is praised for its thoughtful touches and comprehensive amenities. While a few minor issues are mentioned, such as proximity to the road and occasional comments on heating or furnishings, the overall experience is highly enjoyable, making it a popular choice for repeat visitors.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as very clean, spotless, and well maintained. Only one review mentions a minor issue (an iron burn on the carpet), but this does not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The location is praised for its convenience to local sights, beaches, and amenities, making it an ideal base for exploring the North Coast and Orkney. One guest noted proximity to the road as a minor downside, but most found the setting excellent.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and homely, with good heating and comfortable beds. A few minor comments mention armchairs and thin quilts, but these are exceptions among otherwise positive remarks.

The cottage is repeatedly described as extremely well equipped, with everything needed for a pleasant stay, including kitchen utensils, modern appliances, and thoughtful extras. Only one review notes a lack of a plug socket in the shower room, but this is a rare comment.

Hosts are frequently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, with several mentions of thoughtful touches such as milk, tea, coffee, and essentials provided on arrival. While some guests received these items, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The dog and I enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very well equipped, it was lovely to have all the essentials in the cupboards (salt, pepper etc) and a generous supply loo roll! It's located within walking distance of Dunnet beach, one of my favourite places. The new restaurant stannergill was handy.
