The second bedroom is a neat twin room, complete with a wall-mounted TV, perfect for those lazy mornings in bed. Freshen up in the bathroom, with a choice of a bath to soak your muscles or wash away the stress with a shower. Step outside to breathe in the fresh coastal air and take in the stunning surroundings. If you can tempt yourself away from the comfort of Flat 10, there is a wealth of attractions to explore starting merely steps away, as you sink your toes into the golden sand of Findhorn Beach, perfect for an afternoon paddling, building sandcastles or simply soaking up the Scottish sun. Immerse yourself in history at the grand 16th-century Brodie Castle and Estate, managed by the National Trust for Scotland, where you can roam through the ornate interiors, explore the vast grounds, or follow the wildlife walks. On clear days, a rewarding drive will take you to the awe-inspiring Tarbat Ness Lighthouse, the third-tallest in Scotland, where you can marvel at the panoramic views over the Moray Firth and perhaps even spot some of the local sea life. As your day draws to a close, return to Flat 10, where relaxing evenings await sipping a glass of your favourite drink while savouring sweeping beach views, providing an idyllic end to each action-packed day.
Findhorn was at one time a very busy fishing port, and still preserves its strong connections with the sea today, with much of its village life centred around the bay, and fantastic sailing and watersports opportunities available with the Royal Findhorn Yacht Club resting on the waterfront. Its scenic location and gentle climate, influence by the Gulf Stream, make it a desirable destination. It is perhaps best known for being the home to the world-famous Findhorn Foundation, with its Ecovillage and international centre for holistic education. Findhorn boast two pubs, two cafes, an organic bakery and a local store, and is well placed for visiting the many pretty ports and villages nestled along the Moray Firth coastline. The Malt Whisky Trail can be joined close by and the Cairngorm National Park can be found within an hour’s drive. The hub of the Highlands, the city of Inverness, is just 25 miles to the west, and is well worth a day trip, where you will discover its historic buildings and atmospheric NT Culloden Battlefield.
