A warm Highland welcome awaits you at St Orans, a lovely little detached property for two, set in peaceful rural surroundings and close to the banks of the River Findhorn. The cottage, redecorated in early 2019, makes a wonderful base for exploring this beautiful part of the Highlands of Scotland or to just relax and unwind in. Accessed by a track, it is surrounded by woodlands making excellent walking opportunities right on your doorstep and with this unique habitat it can support a large variety of wildlife and birdlife. This remote property also has access to 3G/4G internet on all mobile phones and tablets.
The area is renowned for its excellent selection of walks, mountain bike trails, horse riding, golf and fishing along with a variety of water sports including white water rafting, canoeing and boat trips. Hopefully you will catch sight of the Moray Firth bottlenose dolphins on your boat trip. The Moray coastline has been voted amongst the top 20 coastal destinations in the world, and with its quaint coastal villages along with miles of unspoilt white sandy beaches, it is a well deserved award.
Only 30 miles away is the Cairngorms National Park and close to two major ski centres – the Lecht and Cairngorm, where you can take part in snow boarding, skiing and climbing in some spectacular mountain ranges. Take a trip along the only malt whisky trail in the world with two of the distilleries close by – the Dallas Dhu and Benromach.
Slightly further afield you can visit the Highland capital of Inverness, with its wide selection of shops, restaurants, museums, theatre and leisure facilities. Visit Loch Ness and the ruins of Urquhart Castle or some of the other historical sites including Culloden Battlefield and Fort George, along with Brodie and Cawdor Castles. So much to see and do for all ages. Beach 14½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4½ miles.

A perfect holiday. The cottage is very cosy and has everything you may need. Absolutely perfect for our reactive dog, a very well fenced garden and lots of lovely walks right from the doorstep. Having no WiFi and barely any mobile signal was fantastic, it made it more relaxing.

Our third stay at St Orans and it was still as beautiful. The cottage has everything you need including a little stash of items that previous occupants have left so we arrived to an already stocked little larder. The setting is so peaceful and the walks wonderful. The nearby town of Forres has three butchers and a large supermarket plus several convenience stores. With Nairn and Elgin close by and beautiful Findhorn you will not be disappointed...
