This coastal property is situated at the end of the pretty ‘A’ listed row of cottages, where guests can enjoy sea views across the bay. The central location allows guests to access all amenities on foot. Lamlash offers shops, bars, restaurants, a beach, a golf club, tennis courts, a children’s play park and a pier. The property is also on the bus route, making exploring the island easy. For quieter days, an enclosed patio area to the side of the house is a lovely spot for guests to enjoy reading a book or relaxing in the sun with a glass of wine. This is the only property on this row to have this unique feature. After a day’s activities, the living room is inviting with comfy sofas and a wood burner, making it the perfect place for evenings in, especially in the winter months. The modern kitchen, with an American style fridge/freezer, has a dining area for families and friends to enjoy meals together. Climb the steep stairs to the first floor where there are two delightful bedrooms. Tastefully decorated, and with all the facilities required for a holiday, makes 1 Hamilton Terrace perfect for a weekend break or an annual family holiday. Beach 100 yards. We know Arran extremely well and have stayed in some lovely cottages there. This was one of our favourites. Perfect spot, well equipped and warm even in February. Read some reviews saying the bathroom needs a refurb - it does ideally, however it was clean, the shower was hot and powerful and everything worked. I'll just say it didn't affect our lovely holiday one bit! Utility room great for drying wet boots as you could put them on the boiler. Had a problem with the boiler on one day and someone came out and sorted it within about 20 mins of calling. Also a problem with the back door, my main frustration with this though has been not being able to contact cottages.com more easily to ask them to let the owners know. The kids loved being so close to the Shiphouse which is their favourite shop for holiday sweets! Highly recommend the chippy menu at the Glenisle Hotel in front. Would definitely stay here again.

Second time at 1 Hamilton Terrace still believe it is a lovely cosy cottage, kitchen well equipped location excellent. On previous visit I felt the bathroom needed totally refurbished as floor gets wet with the shower screen it has got worse so believe that is a priority as it spoils the rest of the cottage which is good. Would be happy to return but just needs some tlc.

Location was great, we always enjoy visiting arran.The space and layout of cottage was great, but to say it is in need of a little TLC is an understatement. The bathroom has lots of black mould and is really tired looking, the bedroom downstairs has black mould/ damp patches on the ceiling, in the corners and it could do with a deep clean. Initially it looked ok but finger prints on the glass doors and cobwebs here and there.
