With magnificent uninterrupted breathtaking sea views over Lochranza Castle and The Kilbrannan Sound between Arran and Kintyre, Croftbank is a 250 year old property that provides a fantastic base from which to explore the Island of Arran. The cottage has 2 lovely wood burners to enjoy cosy nights after a day out exploring, and a lovely seating area where you can sit and relax and enjoy the most amazing sunsets. There is also a firepit outside and a summerhouse in the garden from where you can take in the views of the loch and castle.
Visit Lochranza Castle, take a tour around the Isle of Arran distillery with award-winning visitor centre where you can enjoy the fascinating whisky-making process. There is a ferry from Lochranza pier to Argyll and visit Claonaig or Tarbert (Loch Fyne). Explore the Arran Coastal Way, a fantastic circular route around the beautiful Isle of Arran, packed with amazing wildlife and magnificent scenery. Other interesting place to visit include, Brodick Castle and Country Park, Heritage Museum, Goat Fell and Glenashdale Falls, or enjoy a round of golf at the local 9-hole course. Beach 50 yards.

Croftbank is in a great position with views from every window to the ruined castle and the loch and hills beyond. The house is very well equipped and generally finished to a high spec. The only things which are needed are a blind on one bedroom velux (and maybe blackout curtains in all bedrooms) and stiffer mattresses which are very springy. Otherwise it has everything you will need - great kitchen with lots of storage, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and all cooking equipment you'd need. The house has lots of seating space, wood burners, washing machine, drying area, ample storage...It's just a very easy place to feel instantly at home and not want for anything. Outside - the front is great for BBQ, and the summerhouse up the back has spectacular views and is a great place to relax (away from the midges). The cottage has parking for 2 cars right outside.We love Lochranza for its isloated, almost-Hebridean feel while being just 20 minutes from Brodick and its supermarket. Croftbank is a minute's walk from the hotel/ bar, a further couple of minutes for pier fishing, and a 10 minute walk in the other direction to the golf course and distillery. It is a great base to explore this lovely island.We've stayed in a few places in the village over the years but Croftbank is our favourite and we have just booked for another two weeks next year.Fixing the window coverings and mattresses would make this place near perfect for us!

Loved staying at Croftbank 1-15 May. As a couple, with one dog, the cottage was perfect for us. Never quite got to understand the operation of the newly installed heating, and didn’t mess with the controls! Didn’t matter as we made extensive use of the log burner every evening, made the cottage even cosier.Croftbank had all the facilities you could need. Only change I’d make is to have one less wine in the welcome pack and replace with a locally brewed Arran Blonde beer (selfish I know) 😀 Recommended highly, we will be back.
