Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: No children under 12 years old.. Inside, West Mains Barn has a bright open-plan living, dining and cooking space, ideal for easy everyday living. A striking spiral staircase rises through the open-plan living area beneath an angled ceiling, adding a touch of contemporary character. The fully equipped kitchen makes it simple to prepare anything from lazy breakfasts to cosy dinners, while upstairs a mezzanine sleeping area enjoys calming countryside views. A modern ground-floor wash space adds convenience.
Step into the enclosed garden to dine outside using the gas grill or simply sit and take in the rural setting. Evenings feel indulgent as you soak in the luxurious hot tub, perhaps after meeting the neighbouring Highland cows, sheep and classic vehicles on the surrounding farms. Wedding facilities and the option to pre-book visits from a beautician or masseuse add to the sense of occasion. Nearby, discover Ayrshire’s walks, cycling routes, castles, golf courses and west-coast beaches, with Kilbirnie and Glasgow both within easy reach.

We enjoyed our stay at West Mains Barn. Very nice property with everything we needed including a hot tub for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing.

This is a disappointing review to leave. This is a very nice property, that is let down by reliability and unresponsive owners.We paid over £900 for a weeks stay, and were happy to do so because of the hot tub, and because there was a TV for us to watch in the evenings.The TV and broadband didn't work when we arrived. We advised the owners immediately, it took 2 days for them to collect the broken router and a further 24+ hours to return it fixed, meaning it wasn't fixed until our 4th day at the property. The Hot Tub started leaking and the pump failed after 2 nights, and wasn't fixed for the rest of our stay despite promises that it would, so we had a Hot Tub for 2 days out of 7.Messages were sent to the owners via an intermediary. We suggested that a partial refund would be appropriate given that we did not have access to two fundamental amenities. The intermediary agreed with us, but our messages have been ignored.So, a nice property, but we would advise against booking it because when something goes wrong, you'll get no joy from the owners and end up feeling as if you have overpaid substantially. The property is on a complex where the other properties aren't ready, meaning you can expect building works noises during the day.It saddens me to write such a negative review, this is the 90th place we have stayed at booked via various sites in recent years, and the first negative review we have ever given.
