About this property

Strathview is a plush single-storey lodge nestled on the outskirts of Aberfeldy, Perth and Kinross. Perfect for a family, friends or three couples, this rural abode features stunning vistas, a stylish open-plan design, a toasty woodburning stove and proximity to Cairngorms National Park. You arrive along a gravel driveway, tyres softly crunching as Strathview comes into sight, an elegant single-storey lodge perfectly positioned to take full advantage of its surroundings. Before you even step inside, the setting makes an impression: from the garden, your eye is drawn out across the sweeping countryside of the Strath Tay, with layered hills and distant mountains shaping the horizon.

Step up onto the decking, and it becomes clear this is where you’ll spend much of your time. The view stretches out across the river, changing with the light, misty mornings, golden afternoons, and pink sunsets. There’s comfortable outdoor seating here, including a sofa perfectly placed to soak it all in, whether you’re wrapped in a blanket with a book or sharing a glass of something chilled as the day winds down. Entering the lodge, you’re welcomed into a bright and thoughtfully designed interior. Just off the entrance sits a sleek shower room, ideal for freshening up after a day outdoors.

Beyond, the space opens into a generous open-plan living area, where everything feels connected yet spacious. A large dining table anchors the room, inviting long, relaxed meals and or a competitive board game. The kitchen flows seamlessly alongside, fully equipped for anything from simple breakfasts to hearty evening feasts. The sitting area offers a cushy contrast, with plush seating and a woodburning stove that brings warmth and atmosphere. Whether it’s music playing softly or a film on the Smart TV, this is a space designed for unwinding together. The three bedrooms are thoughtfully arranged to suit families, friends, or couples travelling together.

The king-size bedroom offers a touch of privacy and comfort with its own en-suite, complete with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. The two additional bedrooms are doubles, each calm and inviting, and share a stylish shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, ensuring everyone has both space and convenience. Just moments away, the river invites quiet walks or more adventurous pursuits, and nearby you’ll find an outdoor centre offering bike and kayak hire, perfect for exploring the landscape from a different perspective. For those drawn to Scotland’s natural beauty, Cairngorms National Park lies within easy reach, offering wilderness, dramatic scenery, and endless opportunities for walking and wildlife spotting.

The Hermitage (National Trust for Scotland) is a striking woodland with towering Douglas firs, a waterfall, and peaceful riverside paths brimming with nature, from red squirrels to the occasional glimpse of beavers. Castle Menzies offers a glimpse into 16th-century clan history with its fortified walls, atmospheric interiors, walled garden, and welcoming tearoom to enjoy a slice of cake at the end of the visit. Enjoy the rural surroundings at Strathview.

The market town of Aberfeldy stands on the River Tay amidst beautiful scenery in rural Perthshire. Famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, the bridge built for General Wade in 1733 and, more recently, The Hills of Aberfeldy by Ed Sheeran, the town is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. For example, a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. Furthermore, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery and zip wiring, quad biking and bungee jumping are available in nearby Killiekrankie. Castle Menzies is a wonderful 16th century castle, now fully restored and open to visitors. Take a distillery tour at Dewar’s World of Whisky on the edge of town. Sample the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the town and explore the galleries and craft shops. Visit The Highland Chocolatier in the nearby village of Grandtully to enjoy world class chocolate created by a local master. The Scottish Crannog Centre offers a glimpse into Iron Age life and Loch Tay offers a multitude of watersports, while Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are on your doorstep. Within an easy hours drive there are over 30 Munros, just waiting to be 'bagged'!
