In addition, less than 3 miles away, you will discover the historic village of Kenmore which has a shop, golf, pub, water sports, iron age settlement and Hotbox outdoor spa all situated at one end of Loch Tay.
The bright and spacious accommodation is furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard and the location is delightfully removed from the business of the world whilst still having lots to do such as walking, climbing Munro’s, exploring the nearby Whisky distillery or metalwork gallery, kayaking, rafting, wild swimming or even enjoying the luxury of the local outdoor Hotbox Spa on the banks of Loch Tay at nearby Kenmore.

(When in the garden we recommend young children are supervised).
Not to be missed is the Fortingall Yew, at 5,000 years it is probably the oldest tree in Europe.
Interestingly, it was already ancient when the Romans came this way and legend has it that Fortingall was the birthplace of Pontius Pilate.
The area is ideal for numerous outdoor pursuits including fishing, golfing, walking, mountain biking and water sports (kayaking, rafting, canyoning). Low level, forest and mountain walks are virtually on the doorstep. Walkers can enjoy everything from level woodland strolls to the challenges of Glen Lyon, one of the loveliest of Scottish glens and teeming with wildlife, including the elusive capercaillie. Mountain bikers have Drummond Hill on the doorstep with miles of tracks whilst, for walkers, the famous nearby Schiehallion (one of many local Munros) can be reached within minutes.

Weavers Cottage is located in a beautiful valley and is perfectly located for exploring this glorious part of Scotland. The house itself was welcoming, comfortable and equipped with everything you could want. Being able to sit in the garden, by the small river was wonderful and so peaceful.A map of the area would be useful and some more up to date information on the local amenities and events would be beneficial. It would also have been helpful to know in advance of the road closures, as a result of the Etape Caledonian cycling event, as this did limit what we were able to do on the morning of our wedding anniversary!

It provided a very welcome 2nd week of our holiday and was just what we needed in terms of location and facilities. We welcomed the space it gave and good flat parking adjacent. The owner needs to update the welcome folder which gave misleading and outdated information regarding electricity usage and payment. We had to phone the caretaker to try and resolve that. They also need to make the heating more user friendly. The building was generally cold and there seemed no way of adjusting the thermostats to compensate for what was a cold week outside. The underfloor heating seemed ineffective. This was a shame as in all other respects it was a well thought out and equipped acommodation that we would revisit.
