Curlew Cottage is a great property for that romantic break, and is complete with a wood-burning stove and roll-top bath.. Set on a working arable and cattle farm, within the owner’s 2000-acre estate in the Vale of Strathmore, these four welcoming and spacious holiday cottages have been restored to a very high standard. The most recent addition to the collection, Kingfisher Cottage (UK38211) is a renovated, detached, single-storey luxury cottage, tucked way down a farm track. With two stylish bedrooms and beautiful quality furnishings throughout, the high ceilinged open plan living room/kitchen features an eyecatching wood burner flanked by full length picture windows, making the most of the view for the ultimate relaxing experience. Islabank Farmhouse (ref saap) is a traditional, characterful, comfortable farmhouse which is ideal for families. Curlew Cottage (ref syyj) is a charming, beautifully converted, detached, single-storey property and a haven for wildlife with red squirrels visiting the garden daily. Still part of the farm but located 4 miles away is Osprey Cottage (ref UZQ), a delightful, light and sunny, single-storey detached cottage.
Set amongst beautiful farmland and fruit-growing country, they make an excellent choice for relaxing breaks in the heart of rural Perthshire. The estate makes an ideal base for exploring central Scotland, Edinburgh, Perth, St Andrews and the Highlands. Glamis Castle is a few miles away. Outdoor activities (golf, skiing, fishing, riding, cycling) are readily available. Shops and pub 3 miles.

We had a fabulous week at Curlew Cottage over the new year. Its a very quiet location which was perfect for us and our dog - we could walk through the gate and some trees down to a stream and then follow it for some way.The cottage is a good size for 2 people with a cozy log burner for the cold evenings. Comfy bed and good shower. We also loved the utility room with washer and dryer - perfect for washing & drying the dog towels.Its only 10-15 mins drive to the nearest shops and there are lots of walks to go on.Added bonus was the birds and red squirrels that visited the garden daily to eat the peanuts. We could have spent hours watching them.We were lucky with the weather as it was cold but sunny whilst we were there, with just the smallest dusting of snow on new years day.Overall we had a great week and would definitely return.

Our second stay at this cottage which is both well equipped and comfortable. It has an proper secured garden for small and big dogs alike.. You can walk from the garden at the back of the property should you wish which goes along the river. Great parking facilities here with a decent drive so suitable for any car van, etc. The cottage itself is very home . Great location for travelling / sightseeing around this area highly recommended..
