About this property

Part of a beautiful Arts & Crafts house, lying within the enchanting and highly acclaimed National Trust for Scotland’s Branklyn Garden, in the vibrant city of Perth, is Branklyn Cottage. Exuding a traditional aura and echoing touches of art deco style in reference to the decade the cottage was built, Branklyn Cottage provides a charming base for a couple or a group of four to escape to Scotland. With stunning landscaped gardens, that guests will have access to outside of opening hours, this property sits in a truly delightful location for all-year-round visits. Step into this homely dwelling and head into the open-plan living space; spend time relaxing in the evenings with loved ones, with a woodburning stove to warm you as you sink into the sofa, or take a seat on one of the ornate yet inviting chairs, with a TV and DVD player providing entertainment. The kitchen is well-equipped for a week-long trip, and a drop-leaf dining table and chairs are provided. Follow the stairs up to the first floor when sleep takes hold and settle within the master double bedroom, with a luxurious chaise-lounge resting at the end of the bed, and a tiny reading alcove for the book lovers amongst us. A second bedroom has two single beds, complete with quality linen and blankets, with both rooms served by the shower room, perfect for a refreshing morning rinse. Guests have full access to the spectacular Branklyn Garden, created in the 1920s by Dorothy and John Renton, cultivated with love to be a home to over 4,500 species of plants from all over the world. Now run by the National Trust for Scotland, you can wander the grounds and marvel at the picturesque scenery. Perth was Scotland's ancient capital for five centuries and is still a hub of activity today; situated on the banks of the River Tay, you can delight in riverside walks before stopping in one of the local cafés or tearooms, discovering fabulous bars and restaurants in the evenings too. Branklyn Garden is also home to a tearoom, (open between April and end of October) offering a perfect place to stop for your morning coffee before your adventures begin. Stroll into Perth and head to Perth Museum and Art Gallery, which lies within a Parthenon-inspired building, before marvelling at The Black Watch Castle and Museum, with Rodney Gardens making a wonderful spot for a picnic. A little further outside the centre is Huntingtower Castle, Scone Palace and Murray Star Maze, while Perthshire is also known as 'Big Tree Country' and is a wondrous area for woodland walks, with the peaks of Schiehallion and Ben Lawers being great for keen ramblers. Hill of Tarvit Mansion, Falkland Palace and Gardens, Dollar Glen and The Hermitage are more National Trust for Scotland attractions within 30 miles, all worth the visit! Enjoy a scenic stay in the charming Branklyn Cottage in Perth.

Resting north of Edinburgh and west of Dundee is the city of Perth, known as the 'Fair City', it is a bustling destination to enjoy a break. Discover a host of fine shops, bars and restaurants and two large parkland areas to explore. Staff are all superfriendly and make sure your stay is perfect. Facilities are great, bed super comfy. All you need in the kitchen and log burner is cosy. Hot water and heating plentiful. Would highly recommend

The log burner was very welcome too! We were greeted warmly and then allowed to “just get on with it” although we knew we could contact Fiona if there were any issues (there weren’t, everything was really good). We enjoyed the gardens and found it ideally placed for us. A short walk into town, but if one has mobility issues an equally easy drive. Parking was fine too.
