Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Buchanan’s Bothy is a wonderful 4 star detached cottage built in 1996 on the banks of the River Tay with stunning views over the river and beyond.
The cottage has a bright south facing outlook with two large bedrooms downstairs and a wonderful open planned living area on the first floor. This room has fantastic character with wooden beams on the ceiling, wooden flooring, a feature stone fireplace with wood burning stove and a stunning open view over the River Tay. The kitchen is fully fitted with natural pine units and is well equipped. The dining area is directly next to the kitchen. There is a private grassy garden area and patio to the front with garden furniture.
Situated 5 miles east of the city of Perth in the tranquil hamlet of Inchyra. A gentle stroll from the local shop and the Glencarse village pub and restaurant (dogs welcome in bar). The bothy is also only 15 miles away from Dundee with its many attractions including the Discovery centre and the outstanding Victoria and Albert Museum. Its central location is ideal for day trips to St Andrews and Fife, Highland Perthshire, Edinburgh and Glasgow (frequent Ember bus available from St Madoes) and more.
There is open water in the property grounds.

Really enjoyed our time at the Bothy. It was easily found with good directions and has good access and very secure. It sits in a quiet position with lovely view of the river. Inside was very spacious and we liked the living area and kitchen upstairs. Having the bedrooms on ground level worked for us as we didn't need to carry our luggage up to the first floor. Our bed was very comfortable and as the bothy is in such a quiet setting, we slept very well. I didn't find the settee comfortable as it was soft and low, perhaps because I prefer a higher and firmer seat, otherwise all worked really well for us. We did eat at the local hotel/inn which was both convenient and good food, but most facilities were to be had in Perth.

Location is nice and quiet and very relaxing. Great place to go with a dog and our hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating.We intend to go back, so there’s your recommendation right there!

As a family of 3 and our pooch, Coco, we had a wonderful and relaxing time at Buchanan's Bothy. The beds were very comfortable, the house is decorated to a high quality and the views and garden were fabulous. We would love to stay again someday as it's perfectly located for ease of getting around Perthshire and surrounding areas or just chilling in peace and quiet. The hosts provided lots of local information and some great books for reading about the local areas. Also Elsbeth provided some great tips about local areas to visit and bei.g a doggy person made us feel at ease with our pooch. Thank you to Elsbeth and Ken for the gorgeous welcom gifts and making our time at the Bothy special.
