As you step outside, be captivated by the enchanting views of lush fields bordering on to the garden, creating a serene backdrop for your stay. Miles of country walks bordering the famous River Tay are to be found on the doorstep of Southbank Cottage making it an ideal location for dog walking.

In the village of Errol, you’ll discover a delightful pub, a highly regarded local butcher, well stocked local shop and an award-winning café and bake house. Treat yourself to a leisurely afternoon, sipping coffee and savouring delectable cakes in the quaint surroundings of the bake house.

For cycling enthusiasts, Errol sits on the National Cycle Network Route 77 with the Carse of Gowrie itself offering plenty of scenic routes. Cycle storage is available at Southbank Cottage on request at the time of booking.

The village of Errol is conveniently located just a mile off the main A90 road just north of Perth. For those eager to explore beyond the village, Gleneagles and Drummond Castle Gardens are within easy driving distance, as are the bustling cities of Perth and Dundee.

In Perth, immerse yourself in its historic charm, stroll along the picturesque streets, and visit local shops and cafes. Explore cultural attractions such as the Perth Museum and Art Gallery or take a leisurely walk along the banks of the river Tay.

Dundee hosts the V&A and Discovery museums together with larger shopping outlets. The famous Tay Bridge takes you to St Andrews and Fife with its historic coastal villages and splendid selection of restaurants and pubs to enjoy some of Scotland’s finest produce.

Some of the best Golf Courses in Scotland can be found on your doorstep, from the splendour of Gleneagles to the Open Championship Links at Carnoustie and the home of golf at St Andrews the choice is yours.

Venture over the hills further into the glorious Perthshire countryside to visit historic Dunkeld or further to explore the Cairngorms. Both Edinburgh and Glasgow are approximately an hour and a half from Errol making it an ideal base from which to explore much of Scotland’s main attractions, including some of the finest, and oldest whisky distilleries in Scotland.
