The kitchen area is well-equipped with all the modern appliances you could need, and has a breakfast bar with two stools for those pre-dinner drinks. The dining area is spacious and leads to the large living area with a Smart TV and doors leading out to a private patio that hosts a private hot tub with views of the nearby hills.

Ardean Cottage is an excellent place to stay. The real boon is having the hotel only a few minutes’ walk away with its restaurant, lounge and other excellent communal spaces. Visiting the house is a real treat with layers of history to uncover dating back to 1666. The current build dates back to 1861 and it has only been a hotel since the 1970s. The recent major refurbishment has created a luxurious country hotel which beautifully references to its Victorian past.

The grounds of the hotel are also a treat and very inviting. The walled garden and natural trail have been landscaped to very high standards. There is a pitch and putt golf, croquet and boules to enjoy as well. The cottage and the hotel are both dog friendly and there are provisions for charging electric cars and Teslas (with a supercharger on site). There is also a helipad, so if you wish to arrive by helicopter, the option is there.

Nearby there’s a whole host of activities to get involved with, from bike riding and horse riding to fishing on the River Tweed, shooting on nearby estates and walking in the Scottish Borders. Close to Peebles and not far from Edinburgh, staying at Cringletie is an excellent choice to get to know this fantastic area of Scotland. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.. All on the Ground Floor.
