Four stone steps lead up to the front door into the hall where there’s a utility/boot room with a washing machine and an electric clothes airer – super handy for your outdoor gear. Head to the spacious, country cottage-style kitchen/diner where you can pull up a stool at the kitchen island and chat with the chef of your party, before eating together at the dining table.
There’s a piano for after-dinner sing-alongs, and a dual-sided fireplace with a wood burner connects the kitchen/diner to the snug – with somewhere comfy to sit and enjoy a good book. At the end of the hall, there’s one step down to the ground-floor bedroom, which has a luxurious super-king-size bed and plenty of storage.
Upstairs are the other two bedrooms; both have vaulted ceilings and ample storage. The king bedroom has dual-aspect windows with views towards the fort and the third bedroom has a twin.
The cottage has a lovely rear garden with a lawn and patio, with somewhere to sit and enjoy your morning cuppa. The pretty lawn is up six stone steps, where there’s more seating. There’s a bench seat at the front, perfect for putting your boots on as you head out.
