Guests say

Rock Cottage is praised for its excellent location next to the harbour, offering stunning views and easy access to local walks and beaches. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and clean bathroom. The unique upside-down layout with a terrace is a highlight. While some guests mention the need for updates and a more thorough clean, the overall experience is positive, with many recommending the property for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Cleanliness receives mixed reviews. Some guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, particularly the bathroom, while others noted areas that could benefit from a more thorough cleaning or refurbishment. The overall impression suggests that cleanliness is generally satisfactory, but there is room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the harbour, picturesque village setting, and access to coastal walks and beaches. Guests enjoy the views and the local wildlife, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and those seeking tranquillity.

Comfort is well-regarded, with guests mentioning the cosy atmosphere, comfortable bed, and the pleasant terrace overlooking the harbour. However, some guests noted a lack of natural light and limited storage space, slightly detracting from the overall comfort.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-stocked kitchen. However, guests have suggested adding a few items and mentioned that some appliances and furniture could be updated. Maintenance issues were raised, indicating that while the facilities are adequate, there is potential for enhancement.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

Rock Cottage was an amazing find. Quiky upside down layout with the sitting room opening out onto a decking area which is virtually on the quayside. The hubhub of a working Quay with divers and people going out on the ribride happening in front of the cottage.A Quay with crystal clear waters and crashing waves over the rocks makes it a very atmospheric place.A short walk to Coldingham beach with beautiful sand and clear water waves crashing on the beach make it a lovely place to be. There are many miles of pathways that take you to St Abbs head and around the coast. The cottage itself is comfortable having a kitchen with all the necesities to cook home cooked meals. The bathroom was spotlesly clean benefitting from a hot water on tap and a great shower.Parking was a breeze just outside the cottage and was always available when returning from a day trip. At the end of the week it was a real rench to leave.A magical place and an ideal cottage.
