The more energetic can explore further afield and discover the Monteath Mausoleum that stands at the top of the hill overlooking Lilliardsedge or you will find quaint villages, bustling market towns at Jedburgh, Kelso, Melrose and Hawick, quiet backwaters, ancient fortresses, stately homes, charming pubs are all within striking distance.
The 9 hole 18 tee golf course on site give panoramic views of the park and the Cheviot Hills beyond.

Super little lodge, pity we couldn't use all the facilities because of the storm power cut!

Well what they fail to say is that your bedroom door leading outside is a about 20 metres away from the A68 so you have traffic noise all the time,and the mattress on the bed was a joke cheapest of cheap sprung, which led to very poor nights sleep and for what you pay you’d expect a good bed since it is part of the reason your away. Would I recommend it or go back I have to say that I wouldn’t and that’s a shame, the idea of a holiday is to relax and unwind and we felt neither of these from are stay.

The lodge was smaller than expected, marketing photos give the impression of a larger space.
