Cairn-O-Mhor sits on an elevated position in an enclosed garden and has the enviable backdrop of Ailsa Craig, Mull of Kintyre, Arran and the Irish Sea. Beautifully presented Cairn-O-Mhor lives up to its name, affording spectacular views of Ailsa Craig and the Irish Sea. If you are lucky, you may even spot some elusive dolphins, such an amazing sight! Care-no-more, indeed! The spectacular view boasts the most amazing sunrises and sunsets, and with only a 4-minute walk to the beach, you will never tire of it, whatever the weather.
Cairn-O-Mhor is a lovely detached bungalow enjoying a large garden. Upgraded in 2020, Cairn-o-Mhor is spacious, the perfect base for a wonderful family holiday. From the moment you walk in to the property, the views from the living room, sun room and farmhouse kitchen will certainly take your breath away. There are four bedrooms, with the ground floor kingsize room offering a small book share library. Unfortunatly, the property is not suitable for animals as property has boundaries onto where livestock is kept.
Cairn-O-Mhor sits just outside Lendalfoot, a ¼ mile from the A77 on the Ayrshire Coastal Path, a 100-mile long coastal route with stunning views and scenery so it really is the perfect location for walkers. This coastline is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife, including red squirrels, deer, otters and seals, and is a haven for bird watchers. The seaside town of Girvan, boasting a harbour, is a short drive up the coast where you can take a boat trip to the famous Ailsa Craig, a small island upon which ’blue hone’ micro-granite is quarried to make curling stones. The island is now a bird sanctuary and home to more than 70,000 birds including gannets, guillemots and puffins. Inland there are gardens and castles to visit, horse riding and a choice of golf courses available.
Culzean Castle is spectacular and is one of Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attractions. The surrounding country park, extending over 550 acres, has a network of wooded trails passing along the beach. The islands of Arran and Cumbrae are easily accessed and make for a lovely day out, while day trips to Ireland can be taken from Cairnryan. Galloway International Dark Sky Park is just a 20-minute drive. Shop (able to deliver to the property), pub and restaurant 7 miles.

We have spent a fabulous week at Cairn-O-Mhor. We have been blessed with glorious weather and stunning sunsets. Clean, comfortable and spacious, the cottage has been an ideal base with its excellent (and ever-changing) views across to Ailsa Craig. Our hosts, Lindsay and Ian, have been helpful with suggestions and ideas on how to enjoy the best of the region. We’ve had loads to do and have left plenty to come back to. In some ways the area was a pleasant surprise and we found a number of hidden gems. Highlights included the grounds at Culzean Castle, an interesting trip to Alloway to find out more about Burns, coastal walks, an afternoon in Portpatrick and a trip across to the Isle of Cumbrae.We were very sorry to leave …

What a super cottage for our annual half term holiday with our family. Lots of space for everyone. Such a comfortable cottage it soon felt like “home”. And of course the view from the sun room is fantastic. We had mixed weather when we were there But each day the view was fabulous even if Ailsa Craig was obscured!! We enjoyed it so much we booked for next year while we were there! Thank you to give owner for her lovely gift.
