Please note: There are 5 steps to the patio.. Barjols Cottage is a charming and traditional cottage in the small village of Lamington. Located south of Biggar and placed with excellent road links via the M74 motorway, this semi-detached property provides a superb base for enjoying the attractions of south and central Scotland. Sleeping four adults comfortably in two bedrooms (one double and one twin/superking) there is also a shower room and a living/dining room, which is complimented by a wood burner, which will be well used with it being Scotland. A large mounted TV finishes the room and will be perfect for a lazy evening in front of a movie. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a breakfast area overlooking the attractive rear garden. The property has been thoughtfully furnished throughout, making guests’ stay upper most in the owner’s minds. Shop and restaurant 6½ miles and pub 6 miles.

We were warmly welcomed to Barjols cottage, with clear communication and arrival information in the days prior. The welcome hamper was delightful, the cottage is clean and equipped for a comfortable stay. Our dogs loved the outdoor space, stunning lawns and borders, beautifully maintained and grass had been mowed ahead of our arrival. There is ample shade which was ideal given the particularly warm weather during our stay. The fencing and perimeter hedges formed a perfect enclosure - our dogs are adventurous and are always keen to know what is on the other side of garden walls and fences, but thankfully they were unable to find an escape route. The property is perfectly located in a beautiful quiet rural area, superb access to hill walks and forest trails. The main road is nearby with some traffic noise but this wasn't disruptive, and linked us ideally for travel to nearby Glasgow or Edinburgh. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return to Barjols cottage in the future.

This was the 2nd week at Barjols and what a difference when the sun shines Myself and now 8 months old Border Whippet spent a week at end of Feb and agiain end of April We have been on a wee tour of North England and South Scotland on and off since Boxing Day 2026Of the 8 or so properties we have been in, Barjols is the only one we were sad to leave others were good but the BIG and properly fully enclosed Garden was a joy for my dog which brought a lump to my throat 😊15 mins to beautiful Biggar , 30 mins to Lanark , 8 mins to Abington services and M74Found 2 or 3 interesting walks and met some friendly locals and guys working clearing the forest at the back Would absolutely recommend and we hope to be back again

The cottage has such a lovely comfortable feel. Cosy, great log burner, well equipped and a fabulous garden which was perfect for our dog. A great location for hill walking and cycling, many of which were from the door. We had a very enjoyable stay and I would love to return.
