Great Whaup was a great place to stay. It was lovely and quiet, despite being very close to New Lanark, and train stations getting you into both Glasgow and Edinburgh in 20-40 mins. We had a lovely stay and found everything we needed there. A couple of very small details that we felt had been overlooked - upon arrival, all of the doors were open, and the heating hadn't been switched on to the booster (which was needed to even feel it). There are no hooks or bench currently in the hallway, which was frustrating after a day of walking when you just want to hang your coats up and throw off your shoes before stepping into the carpeted lounge and bedrooms. Also, there was only one oven glove for some reason, and no washing up brush ? (there is a dishwasher though). Overall, it was a lovely stay, and hopefully these minor details can be addressed as we would consider coming back to this location again in the future (especially with its fantastic price point).

The cottage was exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable and the underfloor heating made it very cosy. Everything required was provided. Good smart TV and Wi-Fi was excellent. The complimentary milk, butter, bread and jam was a lovely touch. The garden was safe for the dog. Nice walks round about and Biggar not far away. Some lovely cafes and restaurants here. Will definitely be back.

Overall the cottage is lovely. In a great location with no other houses in sight. Garden is great for the dog as gate can be closed to make it secure. The cottage has loads of space and was really comfortable. The bad points were the hottub- it hasn't been maintained, leaks really badly and was quite dirty which is a shame when this was the thing that made us book this property. Mouse droppings in kitchen and utilityHair dryer needs to be replacedWe also didn't have water when we arrived but this was dealt with really well.
