Outside the rear garden is enclosed and perfect for summer barbecues or the kids and dogs playing outside.
When there is snow on the ground there are some great places to ski and sledge all around. There is a local pub that serves food in the village. Guests might be surprised to know that the property is only 7.5 miles from J13 and J14 off the M74 motorway which accesses Glasgow and Edinburgh both within an hour.
The Wanlockhead Museum of Lead Mining is well worth a visit and offers a trip down a real lead mine. There are many spots to try your hand at gold panning and lessons are available at the Museum. Wanlockhead is located on the Southern Upland Way with some fabulous walks all around. A drive down the Mennock Pass will take your breath away as you wind your way down towards the A76 which leads you south to Dumfries and beyond or north to Sanquhar and Ayr.
This property is the ideal base to use to enjoy the sites and attractions that central and southwest Scotland have to offer or just kick back and relax and enjoy the tranquillity of rural life in the hills.

We had a lovely May holiday here. Plenty of local history to explore. Lovely and quiet. Wanlockhead Inn very close, Food was Excellent and staff were every friendly.

Lovely place and area is stunning only slight concern is garden not quite secure for little dogs some gaps in wire you won't notice until they're out chasing rabbits so be prepared because there are plenty of rabbits but overall thoroughly enjoyable stay
