Had to leave after one night because the farmer placed a huge muck pile about 20 feet from the back of Buzzard cottage and the smell was horrendous so we couldn't open the windows on a hot night. We own a farm so are used to the smells of the country but this was a health hazard. Even with the windows shut you could still smell it a bit. The owner needs to arrange with the farmer to put his muck pile elsewhere, but the fact it was done at 4:30 on a Friday, 30 minutes before the DEFRA weekend cut off time makes me wonder if there is something deeper going on.

We booked Buzzard Cottage (Osprey Hideaways) for ourselves (a couple in our 50s/60s) and my partner's elderly father: it was perfect! From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcome, making Buzzard Cottage a real 'home from home' right from the start. The hosts were friendly and helpful; they couldn't do enough for us.The cottage itself was extremely comfortable, clean, well-equipped, airy and light, but also cosy when it needed to be (we had some cold nights). With Stirling close by, but far enough away, we were in the heart of the country (our neighbours were cows, calves, sheep and geese), yet still able to reach all the local amenities we needed within a short drive. We booked to stay again next year before we left: that should tell you everything you need to know!
