Casa Duran is a cosy, semi-detached cottage, providing spacious, contemporary accommodation, and has been thoughtfully furnished to provide comfort and a welcoming atmosphere. Situated on the edge of the conservation village of Killin, within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, the location couldn’t be better for relaxing, unwinding and leaving the stresses of everyday life behind. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen from your cottage including red squirrels, wild birds and red deer. Curl up with a book for a lazy afternoon in the cosy living room, or on warmer days, open the French doors and sit on the patio enjoying great views over the Perthshire countryside. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare that special meal, but if you prefer a break from the kitchen then the local restaurant is only a 5-minute walk away.
Leave the car behind as there is an abundance of walks on the doorstep along the riverside and within the surrounding countryside and hills, and the spectacular Falls of Dochart. Killin plays host to several events throughout the year including a music festival, Highland games and a fireworks display at Hogmanay, and the village has a good selection of bars, restaurants, cafés and shops. The adjacent River Lochay and River Dochart, joining the nearby Loch Tay, are perfect for a spot of trout or salmon fishing, and boats, equipment and gillies can be hired and lessons available locally. With castles, historic monuments, whisky distilleries and a Highland Safari, there is something for everyone. Shop 800 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Excellent location, well equipped and very comfortable.Bedding and towels were clean, however, there were a lot of cobwebs on the stairs and landing. Overall the property needs a refresh as some of the paintwork and decor needs some attention e.g. Shower in ensuite bathroom.

I found the description of the property insufficient. It's not obvious from the description that this is a complex of around 15 units with a communal car park. The complex is nicely located on the outskirts of Killin but casa duran has trees on one side and the main road with more trees on the other, so no view of the river or hills. The open plan living area is carpeted in a pale cream with a very small area of hard flooring by the main door, and another hard flooring area in the kitchen. But the dining table, even the kitchen bin were on the carpet so we could never relax fully when eating or drinking, always on the lookout for spills. The patio table and chairs were quite heavy and tucked away in a cupboard so after one attempt we decided not to bother.

We had a brilliant time in this spacious relaxing house and hope to return. Lots to do nearby whatever the weather and very quiet and comfortable. It really was home from home!
