This charming holiday home sits on the shore of Loch Earn, in the village of Lochearnhead and within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, the cottage is an excellent base for families and friends seeking outdoor adventure. The village of Lochearnhead is the starting point for many popular walks, including to the summit of Ben Vorlich and Ben Lawers, through the beautiful Glen Ogle and along a scenic stretch of the West Highland Way. For those wanting to get out on the water, you’ll find opportunities for all manner of water sports on Loch Earn, such as water skiing, paddleboarding, sailing, and canoeing. There are two hotels with restaurants and bar facilities in Lochearnhead, and you’ll find further eateries and independent shops in the nearby villages of Strathyre (4 miles) and Killin (7 miles). Days out from the holiday home include Gleneagles, Drummond Castle Gardens, and the historic city of Stirling (all within 30 miles).
This waterside retreat boasts unrivalled views across the loch to Edinample Castle and the mountains beyond. Inside, the cottage has a home-away-from-home vibe with traditional wooden furniture, artwork on the walls and an array of charming accessories. On the ground floor, you’ll find a bright and inviting kitchen/diner with everything needed to prepare hearty feasts for the group which you can share at the dining table next to the window whilst admiring the panoramic views across the water. After a bite to eat, retire to the cosy lounge to relax on one of the plump sofas in front of the Smart TV. Alternatively, pour a glass of wine and step up into the peaceful sunroom to unwind with your favourite book. Completing the ground floor is a delightful double bedroom, a contemporary shower room and handy utility room with an adjoining Toilet/WC. The remaining bedrooms – a double and a twin – are set in the eaves on the first floor. Please note, these rooms have sloping ceilings, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas.
Outside, relax in the elevated garden, taking in the scenery and looking out for local wildlife. The garden features a patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, as well as a lawned area where children can play. Guests benefit from their own access to the loch and fishing rights for trout and salmon. Please be aware, there is a road between the property and the edge of the loch. Private parking is available for two cars.
