Guests say

Tan-y-Coed is a cottage in Beaumaris, Anglesey, appreciated for its excellent location and scenic views. Guests have enjoyed its proximity to local attractions and the comfort it provides. The property has a secure garden and is considered a good base for exploring. While some guests have noted the property could benefit from updates and better maintenance, particularly in the garden, others have praised its cleanliness and the presence of wildlife.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the cottage spotless and others noting the presence of cobwebs and spiders. The inconsistency in cleanliness standards has led to a slightly above average score.

The location is highly praised for its scenic views, proximity to Beaumaris town, and the peaceful residential area. It is also noted as a great base for exploring Anglesey and North Wales.

Comfort receives positive remarks for the cosy living area and comfortable beds. However, some guests have mentioned that the furniture could be more comfortable and the lack of wardrobes reduces the convenience.

Facilities are generally good with a well-equipped kitchen and secure accommodation. However, comments about overgrown gardens, lack of hanging space, and the need for updates have affected the score.

There is insufficient information to accurately score thoughtfulness. While some guests mentioned welcome gifts, such as wine or bubbly, it is not consistent across reviews and cannot be guaranteed for future guests.

On first entering the property there was damp down the walls in the hallway, so much so that the wallpaper was coming off and there was water on the floor. Secondly there was no signal on 90% of the TV channels, leaving one with nothing to watch when we wanted to sit and relax at night. On a plus side the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen appliances were all working well. We left a day early due to the issues and we feel we are owed a part refund as the reality was different to what was being offered. I sent this on the 7th but for some reason it didn't work. Yours Peter.

1 or 2 items that could be better but we aren't staying at Claridges and there is everything you need for a brilliant week :) Thank you

The house is in a good location, in a quiet area and about 15 minutes walk to the town centre. There’s a wood (old mills) behind the property which was good for walking the dog. The house was very clean but we didn’t find the furniture in the front room particularly comfortable. The shower (probably the boiler) is a bit sensitive to water pressure changes so don’t run any taps whilst someone’s washing. The kitchen has everything you’d need, but could do with a few more plates as there are only 4 (no dishwasher - lots of washing up). There’s also no washing machine, although there’s a laundrette in town if you’re desperate. One of the bedrooms does not have any clothes storage so bring a few hangers. The rear garden is nice to sit out in and is enclosed so good for dogs. Both the front and rear gardens were a bit overgrown when we arrived, but a gardener came early in our stay and tidied it all up nicely. The drive can easily accommodate 2 small cars, you might be struggling with anything bigger (plenty of on-street parking though). Beaumaris itself is a nice little town with plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and chip shops, along with an Indian restaurant and a Chinese takeaway. The beach is not great and dogs aren’t allowed on most of it during peak times - we found lots of nicer ones within a 30 min drive though.
