Gardd Efa is a well-equipped, cosy cottage with a practical layout, ideal for dog-friendly getaways. It boasts a stunning master bedroom with sea views, close proximity to quiet beaches, and a warm atmosphere with a log fire. The garden is appreciated by guests and their pets, though some maintenance issues were noted.
Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-equipped. However, there were a few mentions of cleanliness issues, including a neglected garden and some areas that required attention. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than the norm.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to quiet beaches and picturesque views, making it perfect for a peaceful getaway. The convenience of local amenities and the ease of exploring Anglesey from this base are also appreciated.
Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, especially the master bedroom with its views. However, some guests noted that the twin room was not suitable for seniors and that the heating could be improved during colder months.
The cottage is well-stocked with appliances and offers a variety of games and extras for guests. Despite this, there were comments about the garden not being secure for dogs and some maintenance issues that impacted the overall experience.
While guests have not mentioned any specific gifts, the provision of dog bowls and the invitation to contact the owners if problems arose show consideration for guest needs. However, as there is no mention of gifts, a score cannot be provided.

In the summer months, Gardd Efa might be a beautiful place to stay, but Anglesey in February is going to be cold/chilly, when we arrived at Gardd Efa the house was very cold, the heating did not come on til 4:30 pm, the older part of the house did warm up after a couple of days. The kitchen log burner ( according to the Gardd Efa information pack) was not safe to use, we did use the sitting room log burner Friday evening with no issues, but Saturday evening the log burner rattled and thrummed very loudly -possibly due to the strong winds (owners were told by email), we did not use it after that, the sitting room and upstairs double bedroom remained cold throughout our stay. The garden is enclosed but not secure, if rabbits can get in and out so can an inquisitive small dog, some of the metal fencing had bits of wire sticking out. On our first evening I picked up 3 lots of ‘rain-washed’ dog poo in the back garden - really not pleasant and there was a further dog poo on the gravelled front driveway. The kitchen sink had a brown stain under the washing up bowl - which I cleaned with kitchen spray; the kitchen sink tap had a directional nozzle - very useful, but it was mouldy - again I cleaned it with kitchen spray. Some of the pillows had stain, we swapped them with pillows form unused beds. The rug in the sitting room had several stains on it, which my dog was very interested in- fortunately she didn’t add to them.Gardd Eda has the potential to be a lovely holiday cottage - but needs some maintenance and cleaning attention

We had a lovely break in very cold January weather - a very cosy place to come back to after chilly beach walks. The cottage is clean and well equipped and we would love to come back in the summer months.

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage, thank you to the owners for letting us stay. The apartment was very well stocked, and I really enjoyed working in the kitchen. All the appliances were there, the double ovens came in handy, knives were sharp, and everything worked perfectly - though a coffee machine would be a great addition for future guests. The heating was excellent; the Hive system kept the place warm throughout our stay. The log fire in the living room was a lovely touch and made the space feel extra cozy. We used almost a bag of logs each night to keep the living room and upstairs warm, which was well worth it (it was November). The layout of the apartment was very practical. Having the utility room to store wet dog gear and muddy boots was brilliant. The garden was another highlight that our dogs loved exploring, sniffing around, and playing in the spacious area. The only small regret was not being able to make more use of the apples that had fallen from the tree…The location was perfect for a dog-friendly getaway. We even had access to an ‘almost’ private beach for the entire stay, which made it feel extra special. All in all, this was an excellent experience, and we’d happily return!
