Monarfon is a well-located cottage in Anglesey, praised for its proximity to the beach and local amenities. Guests appreciate the spacious garden, ideal for dogs, and the comfortable living spaces. While some guests have highlighted issues with maintenance and cleanliness, the welcoming touches like a welcome basket have been well received.
Several reviews mention cleanliness issues such as dog hairs, cobwebs, and dirty kitchenware. However, some guests found the property clean, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its close proximity to the beach, local shops, and amenities, making it an excellent base for exploring Anglesey.
Guests find the beds and seating comfortable, with good-sized rooms and a warm atmosphere. Some concerns were raised about the state of repair, which may affect overall comfort.
The property offers adequate facilities, but several reviews cite issues with maintenance, such as the veranda and patio doors. The kitchen is noted as basic and could benefit from additional equipment like a dishwasher.
Guests have mentioned welcome touches like a basket with tea, coffee, and cake. While these gestures are appreciated, they are not consistently mentioned across reviews, and future guests should note such amenities are a bonus rather than a guarantee.

The house was ideally located for us, a few minutes walk to the local beach and a great base for visiting other areas of Anglesey and the mainland. There was a bit of an unpleasant smell in the downstairs toilet and bathroom. This wasnât an issue for us as we just kept the doors closed and did not use these rooms. The upstairs bathrooms were lovely. The garden is great but there are a couple of areas where a dog could get out, either side of the house. One of our dogs is a bit of an escape artist so we had to keep her on a lead when in the garden. We would absolutely stay at Monarfon again. Thank you

Have to say that we were pleasantly surprised and had a lovely relaxing stay. Itâs was very clean, comfortable with plenty of room and a great location to walk to the beach or to the town. The pictures are a little dated and the garden could do with some maintenance but thatâs not an issue in February. We have 2 dogs and the garden was fine for them but wasnât secure however they do not wander too far . If you have a dog that likes to escape then you would need to keep them on a lead . Overall I would recommend Monarfon

There were white dog hairs all over the stairs and around the sofas (our dogs have black fur so clearly not from our dogs) the kitchen floor was unswept and not 100% clean. The fridge door was filthy and stained and the washing machine was covered in muddy paw prints. There were cobwebs in the shower and around the light fittings. The mattress and bed in the main en-suite bedroom was so uncomfortable (lumpy and noisy) we had to go out and buy extra pillows.
