About this property

Gaerwen 2.1 miles. Perched in Llandaniel near Gaerwen is this contemporary barn conversion in Anglesey, Ysgubor Bach. Ideal for a couples retreat, this dog-friendly accommodation has an open-plan living area, off-road parking for one car, secure bike storage, and bistro-style outdoor seating, with the attractions of Anglesey within easy reach. Be greeted by the living/dining room with high ceilings, beams, and homely touches such as artwork, cushioned sofas, a selection of books, and a TV; a lovely spot to relax with a cup of tea after busy days exploring! Set the table for two, whilst your other half rustles up a hot dinner in the well-equipped, minimalistic kitchen with white units, wooden worktops, and everything you need for a self-catering holiday. After days spent along Anglesey's coast, the utility offers a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board to keep your holiday clothes fresh, along with dog bowls and towels. Step under the walk-in shower of the ground-floor shower room to wash the day away, before climbing the stairs to the mezzanine bedroom. You'll be welcomed by a sumptuous king-size bed with pillows, throws, and bedside lamps to unwind with a good book. In the morning, grab a coffee from the coffee machine and head out to the front seating area to plan the day's itinerary. The village of Gaerwen isn't far with a convenience store and the Gaerwen Arms to take a break from the kitchen, whilst historians will relish the nearby attractions of Bryn Celli Ddu Burial Chamber, a Neolithic burial ground, and Plas Newydd House and Gardens, a stunning waterfront mansion dating back to 1470. Journey to Llanfair PG to see the famed railway station sign, the historic St Mary's Church, and Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens close by. Further along the coast lies Beaumaris, home to a majestic, 13th-century castle, a picturesque sea front to stroll along with an ice cream in hand, and boat tours to Puffin Island! The Isle of Anglesey has so much to offer, such as Oriel Môn celebrating local heritage in Llangefni, where The Dingle (Nant-y-Pandy) Nature Reserve is perfect for walking through idyllic scenery, and a plenty of sandy beaches to relax or try your hand at watersports. Traeth Llanddwyn is a short drive away for a long, breath-taking beach and nature reserve with coastal walks to the historic landmark of Goleudy Tŵr Mawr. Alternatively, cross the Menai Bridge to discover the cathedral city of Bangor, the royal town of Caernarfon, and the mountain peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Whisk your other half away for an unforgettable adventure at Ysgubor Bach.

This wonderful, large village is located in North Wales, right in the middle of the Isle of Anglesey. Gaerwen has four welcoming village pubs, as well as a Chinese restaurant and a gas station with a local shop. This community is surrounded by popular tourist destinations, including beautiful beaches along the coast and some breathtaking inland countryside. Llanfair PG, shortened from one of the world's longest place names, is only three miles distant and has a limited range of attractive facilities as well as a historic railway station worth a visit.

Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and the place was above and beyond what we expected. It was the best accommodation we had on our whole trip in the UK and it was our home away from home for a week. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a place to stay in Wales.

Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great base for travelling to all the attractions on Angelsey. Would have liked it to have had a grass area as we had a dog with us but we managed without. Would highly recommend as was very clean and well equipped
