For couples, this charming lodge is a cosy place to settle into farm life while keeping the coast close enough for spur-of-the-moment days out. A network of footpaths runs close to the farm, so you can leave the car where it is, head out on foot and round off the walk with a drink at the village pub. Spend hours mulling over New Quay’s harbourfront shops or book a boat trip across Cardigan Bay to look for dolphins. There are also three beaches to choose from, plus the Wales Coast Path to explore. Llanerchaeron (9 miles) is ideal when you fancy something slower, with a Georgian villa and walled gardens to admire, while New Quay Honey Farm (4 miles) makes a sweet stop for local produce to take back to the lodge.

Follow the lure of the feature stained glass window to the first floor, where the traditional crog loft bedroom will meet you and your guest with a double bed, storage and additional beamed ceilings.
