The gateway to the Gower Peninsula, Mumbles combines a friendly village atmosphere with classic seaside fun – visit the Victorian pier for family amusements; at low tide the small beach beside it is perfect for rock pooling. Standing high on a hill and affording some of the best views out to Swansea Bay, Oystermouth Castle (less than 500 metres) makes a fabulous picnic spot. Langland Bay (1.5 miles) has beautiful sands backed by a beach hut-lined promenade; sheltered from winds, it’s a favourite for surfing and swimming, with tennis courts and a golf course also nearby. Join the coastal path here; to the east, Bracelet Bay has a rocky shoreline and unrivalled views towards the iconic Mumbles Lighthouse.
