Follow it west and you’ll reach beautiful Caswell Bay (1.5 miles), or head east instead to Bracelet Bay (2 miles) for a fine view towards the Mumbles Lighthouse. A mile cross-country you’ll find cosmopolitan Mumbles that has something for everyone to enjoy, with a Victorian pier and seafront lined with refreshment stops and ice cream shops. Overlooking the village, Oystermouth Castle (1.5 miles) is especially stunning, while further east, Swansea (5.5 miles) is the second-largest city in Wales.

Park your car at the front of the apartment block and pause to admire the view out to sea before you follow the steps one flight up to the landing and turn right to access your front door. Inside, the hallway has doors into a family bathroom, two bedrooms and a boiler cupboard containing a handy washer/dryer. The first bedroom you come to has a quirky bunk bed with sleeping space for two at the lower level and one above – ideal for siblings.
