About this property

The Old Cartshed | Yr Hen Gwt Cart, sits in a peaceful rural setting in the village of Llangernyw in Conwy. With Eryri National Park nearby, a toasty woodburning stove and a bubbling hot tub soaking in countryside view, this abode provides an appealing base for families and friends exploring both countryside and coast. Your stay begins at the end of a long country lane, where fields stretch out on either side and the pace of life immediately softens. Parking is close by, giving you time to pause and take in the stone exterior of this converted cartshed, its weathered walls sitting naturally within the working farm setting.

With cows grazing nearby and wide skies overhead, the sense of rural calm is immediate. Access is via an external stone staircase that leads up into the main living space. As you step inside, A frame timbers and a vaulted ceiling draw the eye upwards, giving the room a feeling of space and light. Windows frame open views across the countryside, constantly changing with the weather and time of day. The open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting area flow together with ease, striking a thoughtful balance between character and contemporary style. Grey cabinetry and granite worktops bring a clean, stylish finish, while cooking becomes part of the experience as you look out over fields beyond the window.

A breakfast bar encourages slow mornings and shared plans for the day, while the wooden dining table is perfectly placed for relaxed meals that stretch into the evening. The sitting area feels generous and welcoming, with an L-shaped sofa and armchair arranged around the log burner, ready for you to settle in after a day outdoors. Framed pictures add warmth and personality, while a mounted television offers the option of a quiet night in, wrapped in comfort. When it is time to wind down, a wooden staircase leads you back downstairs, gently lit as you descend. Practical details are thoughtfully tucked away, with a washing machine hidden in the hallway, ideal for refreshing walking gear.

The super king-size bedroom has a characterful feel, centred around a quirky headboard crafted from a Welsh blanket, adding texture and a strong sense of place. A sofa creates a space to sit and relax, framed artwork lines the walls, and patio doors open directly outside to a bistro set, perfect for stepping out into the fresh air with a morning coffee. The second bedroom offers another calm retreat, dressed in warm pink hues with framed pictures and an armchair that invites quiet moments. Doors lead straight out to the patio, allowing light and countryside air to drift in. The bathroom completes the experience with a touch of indulgence, where a large rainfall shower provides a refreshing start or a soothing end to the day, with space to linger and unwind.

Outside, the courtyard becomes an atmospheric extension of the house. A sheltered sitting area is arranged along the fence, where benches are softly illuminated by festoon lighting as dusk falls, creating a warm glow against the stone and open sky. Nearby, the hot tub sits overlooking the surrounding fields, inviting you to sink into the warm water and let the quiet of the countryside settle around you. With farm life close by and uninterrupted rural views, this outdoor space is made for long evenings, shared stories and moments of complete stillness. After a day of exploring the beauty of North Wales, unwind in the hot tub and soak in the stunning views from The Old Cartshed | Yr Hen Gwt Cart.
