About this property

Abergele 5 miles. This spacious, detached holiday home is a former farmhouse, situated amongst beautiful Welsh countryside near Dolwen in the Welsh county of Conwy. Following a complete refurbishment Cefn Isaf is bright and wonderfully-furnished, and is the perfect retreat for friends, families and couples exploring North Wales. There is an abundance of parking on the driveway that wraps around half of the property, as well as a great amount of covered secure storage space for bikes, jet skis and other outdoor equipment. Inside is a large hallway and boot store, divided by a bright, colourful stained glass feature window. The sitting room overlooks the large garden with beautiful country views beyond, with a woodburning stove set inside a lovely, exposed stone fireplace. Beside it, the dining room is a great space to enjoy dinner together and plan the day over breakfast. Furnished in a contemporary Scandinavian theme, it has a dining table by the window and a second sitting area with a sofa, chair, TV and modern wall-mounted electric fire. The well-equipped modern kitchen also has a small breakfast area of its own. Upstairs are three fantastic bedrooms with lots of space and windows set in deep sills opening from the top, for that extra peace of mind for people with young children. The master bedroom has a stylish en-suite shower room with power shower, heated towel rail and the largest room of the three has a double bed and single bed for complete flexibility. There is also a bathroom on the first floor with a bath and separate shower cubicle. Outside is a large wonderful lawned garden with an incredible view of fields and rolling hills. Completely enclosed, it is a great space for the dogs and kids to run around in while you relax on the patio with a glass of wine or a bite to eat. The nearest amenities can be found in Betws-yn-Rhos 1.5 miles away, where there is a lovely pub serving food and a local village shop. The seaside resort of Colwyn Bay has a good selection of shops and places to eat, as well a lovely Blue Flag-awarded beach. Abergele also has a good selection of amenities, as well as an 18-hole golf course with a beautiful backdrop of Gwrych Castle. In addition to all this there lies Llandudno's immaculate seafront, gracefully framed by two headlands; a seaside classic with a pier, Punch and Judy, donkey rides and even Alice in Wonderland, plus modern and arty attractions for the perfect contemporary touch. Visit the World Heritage town of Conwy with its castle and town walls. For adventure seekers there is Zip World, or relax in the beauty at Bodnant Gardens. The surrounding area will keep walkers and cyclists happy, with miles of stunning scenery and of course, the Snowdonia National Park which is just half an hour away. An excellent choice for friends, families or couples exploring this friendly, picturesque area of North Wales.

The pleasant seaside town of Abergele stands on the lovely North Wales coastline and is ideally positioned between the stunning Vale of Clwyd and the lovely Conwy Valley. Renowned for the impressive Gwych Castle which overlooks the town, and its enormous sandy beach, the whole area offers safe bathing waters and excellent watersports facilities. There is also a coastal cycle path which runs along the Abergele seafront, and for walking enthusiasts, the Offa's Dyke pathway, the Clwydian Hill Range and beautiful Betws-y-Coed known as the "gateway to Snowdonia" are all nearby.

We had to take daughter in law to hospital and had no way of ringing the hospital. Caused us real issues as we couldn't keep in touch with family. The metal cannisters in cupboard had mouldy coffee and sticky sugar in them obviously not checked as tea bags left were dated 2020! The fridge was too small for a family couldn't get all baby milk and food in it. We are a family which cook and eat together so important. Had to buy camping fridge and use ice packs to help. A large freezer in utility doesn't compensate for a small fridge, the owners response was they'd had no complaints in 4 years rather than take on board our issues. Woodlice and cockroaches in property which wasn't nice especially with 2 young children. We chose property for family holiday as there were 4 adults and 2 young children. Bedrooms were good size, parking 2 cars side by side outside was tricky because sloping drive with steps so we had to park in front of each other. Its a shame owners didn't want to know you as it helps address issues directly, believe in honest approach. Dolwen farm shop nearby which also has holiday lets, spoke to one of the owners face to face and they were very helpful. Plan to visit area again as lovely. This was an expensive week with it being in school holidays so you expect better. As long as you are aware of these issues you then can adapt to situation, we bought camping fridge, vacuumed daily where cockroaches were and parked cars safely. Can't fault the views and location. Would come back to the area.

There are steps in the house but we soon trained the toddler. She loved sitting in the pink car. We had trips into the Vale of Clwyd, Prestatyn beach, Llandudno and Conwy. A great location and very quiet and peaceful. Thank you
