Guests say

Pabo Lodge is a well-received cottage praised for its enclosed garden, ideal for dogs, and its peaceful, rural setting with easy access to local attractions. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, comfort, and the thoughtful touches like welcome baskets, although WiFi is missed. The property's charm and the secure garden are recurrent positive themes.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and well-maintained, with one mention of cobwebs suggesting a minor oversight. The overall high standard of cleanliness is evident in the reviews.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, beautiful views, and proximity to local sights and amenities. The single-track approach and the need for a car are noted, but do not detract significantly from the positive feedback.

The lodge is frequently described as warm, cosy, and comfortable, with a homely feel. There are a few mentions of firm beds and noise from the wind, but overall, guests find the accommodation very comfortable.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good water pressure. However, there are comments about the lack of WiFi and a dishwasher, and some issues with TV reception, suggesting room for improvement.

Guests mention thoughtful gestures such as welcome baskets and dog-friendly features. While these are appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, although delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Llandudno 3.5 miles.

An attractive 19th century, stone-built, Grade II listed cottage situated in a quiet hamlet on the outskirts of Llandudno Junction, just 3.5 miles from the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno. Originally the gate lodge to the Pabo Estate, this delightful cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished in a traditional cottage style, boasting exposed oak floors and a lovely woodburning stove in the living room, all creating a charming, cosy atmosphere. The pretty garden offers beautiful countryside views, perfect for relaxing and dining alfresco, whilst the surrounding area is a paradise for climbers, walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers and water sports enthusiasts alike. Visit Victorian Llandudno with its two lovely beaches, long promenade, dry ski slope, excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, or explore medieval Conwy, with its magnificent castle, splendid town walks, picturesque harbour, marina and golf course. An ideal location for a relaxing break at any time of the year.

Set between the Great Orme and the Little Orme, the village of Llandudno is a popular destination due to the town's two waterfronts. With both The North Shore and The West Shore, there are two beaches for visitors to choose from, the former offering a wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the latter offering contrast with its miles of sandy shoreline backed by dunes and superb views of nearby Anglesey. For great photo opportunities from the 600 feet high Great Orme summit, visitors can enjoy a relaxing trip up via the Tramway or cable car. There are a number of excellent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes in the town whilst just four miles away is the World Heritage Site of Conwy. Dominated by its castle this lovely town is completely enclosed by its well-preserved walls.

We arrived to a lovely treat of Welsh and and chocolate chip cookies. There was also milk in the fridge. It was a little chilly at first but soon warmed up with the central heating and a couple of mobile heaters. We had the shopping delivered to the cottage which saved us time and effort. The kitchen was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. There is an electric shower and a bath but we didn't use that. The cottage is perfect for Conwy and Llandudno. Weather was stormy at times but we lit the log fire and chilled in the living room with a beautiful Christmas tree.(And a brandy and coke). Met the host when had a problem with the kitchen tap but was resolved without fuss. Would I go again... Quite possibly but would consider Springtime next time.
