Guests generally appreciate the cosy, well-equipped Tyddyn Derwen cottage, set in a peaceful, rural location on the Bodnant Estate. The property offers a real hideaway feel with great walks and amenities. A welcome pack is often highlighted, adding a touch of thoughtfulness to the stay. Some minor issues are noted regarding access in adverse weather and mobile signal availability.
The cottage is described as super clean and comfortable, with only one mention of the window sills needing attention. The high standard of cleanliness is consistent with expectations for Rural Retreats properties.
The location is praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with direct access to walks and estate amenities. However, the challenging access via a steep, winding road and the lack of mobile signal are noted concerns.
Comfort is a strong point, with the cottage being described as cosy and well-equipped. The beds are comfy, and the property provides ample space for families. The only minor drawback mentioned is dim lighting in the lounge area.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and a good welcome pack. Some issues with maintenance, such as a temporary toilet malfunction and a log burner that kept going out, slightly mar the experience.
While the welcome pack is frequently mentioned and appreciated, there are no specific references to other thoughtful gestures or gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for this category, and guests should note that such amenities are subject to change and not guaranteed.

Peaceful setting, well equipped kitchen, but certainly not luxury. Bathrooms were dated, window sills needed cleaning (full of debris and dead insects). Rusty drying rack- I mean, doesnât take much to replace? To be called luxury would need renovation of bathrooms and proper cleaning.. The welcome pack was a nice touch.

Really liked the property. 1 issue, the welcome letter promised 10% discount at Bodnant Welsh Foods, but they wouldn't honour it

Did not quite reach the very high srandards of other rural retreat holiday, felt like it needed a bit of a spruce up, but it was in the most beautiful surroundings
